I sat in a movie theater, watching "Pearl Harbor"
and asked myself, "Why weren't we prepared?"

Supposedly they had enough information to know the Japanese were coming, but with no organization (FBI/CIA) to do the work they could not correlate the data.

That's most of it, from the available data they "deduced" an attack was imminent but didn't have the resources to PROVE it. Kind of the same boat we found ourselves in on 9/11. I'm with Jarhead in believing the available information should have been used to better prepare us for an attack. That's the whole basis for the current discussion about attacking Iraq. We know they're gonna hit us so, do we go ahead and hit them first? Tough call. This is one of the rare occasions I'm glad to be taking orders instead of giving them.
