I thought that bigger cars are supposed to have more head space than smaller cars but that is not the case. I noticed when I drive my Accord, I have more space between my head and the roof. But when I drive my friends Pathfinder, there was very little space between my head and the roof. I had to bend my head little down to drive the car. It was very frustrating experience. I would rather have a smaller car with a more head space than bigger car with small head space.
My issue is mostly leg room. Getting under stearing wheels is very difficult in camry's and most Fords and Dodges I've been in. I want to try a Honda later. My car had the benefit of head room, leg room, and cargo room. Plus, sitting up higher makes getting in and out so much easier and less stressful on my knees (they are constantly being beaten up during my workouts and Jiu-Jitsu training so being nice to them during down time is a must).
I swear, you'd think the idiots in Detroit could make a truck with a decent amount of leg room - they're freaking huge vehicles, what could possibly be taking up all that space. If Mr. Honda could make cars and trucks do the same freaking job while using half the space, I'd think Detroit could just use the same technology and add people space inside. Most of us don't need to haul 15,000 lbs of crap behind us. I'd rather use a nice truck I can fit in. I'm thinking Dodge Ram 1500-1800 series with the gas mileage of a Corolla - It can be done, improve the fuel system (modify the fuel injection system and allow direct computer control for maximum performance), strip the useless crap, lose half the bed space for batteries (be cool to make a bed cover with photovoltaic properties and use solar power to charge the cells while driving - that is one thing a big truck could probably do much better than a small car - and you could use that as a platform to help improve PV technology for use in all vehicles) - Ok so I want a solar powered hybrid Dodge Ram 1800 series with a custom extended cab so I can fit inside!
