I am hoping that by posting here I will be able to meet up with other's who battle the thyroid disease ( Grave's/ Hypothyroid or Hyperthyroidism) and are able to share tips and stories in regards to training with this illness. For those of you who don't know what Grave's disease is, it's an autoimmune disease which affects the thyroid..The thyroid being a main component in metabolism--one can see how this poses a problem to those of us who are trying to make it in the fitness/figure world. I have found that the typical figure competitor diet ( sorry to lump everyone together here) for the most part doesn't agree with me. I tend to smooth out and gain water weight when I cut my carbs..not to mention the severe fatigue..I know some of this is normal..I feel like I am having to work 2x as hard to drop fat. I'm currently at 12.5 %,but I feel like I look about 20%..does:blah:anyone else out there have advice for training smartly with Thyroid disorders or know of any websites they can refer me to?
