I have recently enlisted with the Navy and well be going to boot camp mid November. I am 6' 170lbs, a little over a year ago I was 280lbs. I lost the weight due to lack of income so lack of calorie intake. I now am able to eat reguraly again and am drinking protein shakes as well.

My goal is to in three months be able to do at LEAST (preferably more) 60 sit ups in 2 minutes and 35 push ups in 2 minutes. I can currently do 40 sit ups (which I increased from 20 in 3 weeks), and 13 push ups (that I increased from 10). My workout plan currently consist of upper body one day, abdominal the next and repeat for the whole week. I gotta go but will post later with the specifics.

It's Later

My abdominal workout consists of 3 sets of as many sit ups as I can do till I cant do any more. Then 3 sets of as many side crunches as I can do till I cant do any more.

Since my amount of push ups is pitiful my upper body routine is like a real work out. I do 3 sets of 10 push ups. Then 3 sets of 10 french press I'm up to 20lbs (hurray). Then 3 sets of 10 for each arm of 15lbs bicep curls. I just added 3 sets of 10 bench press 65lbs.

I do proper stretches before exercise, and a 20 minute workout bike ride later in the day. I have also just started the recommended 6 meals a day diet with 3 being a 50g protein shake, one being after workout.

Is working out everyday except some weekends alright? Does my diet seem correct? Why do I suck at push ups?
