I'm the sweaty guy. But I do wipe up the equipment when I'm done with a towel and/or the spray disinfectant and a paper towel.

There's a guy at my gym that brings the gallon of water with him. He never hits it, he just brings it in and takes it out. He also does the sauna suit.
