Greetings to everyone!! :D

My name is Ryan.

Let me tell you why I am here. I used to be in fairly good shape and played basketball in High School and was decent and could almost dunk a 10' goal when i was 18. I was then 5' 10" and weighed roughly 200lbs.

I am now 26yrs old, 5' 11" and due to several lazy years in college and lack of personal discipline, I now weigh close to 260lbs. I do manual labor for my job so I have put on SOME of that as muscle, but a good 50lbs of it is fat. :(

I am here, at this forum, because I have recently moved back near my old home and have access to a basketball gymnasium for free and I have the desire and motivation to not only get back into playing condition, but push myself to see just how athletic I could be.

For the past 10 days I have been running laps at the gym and shooting around and have been feeling alot better. I have also cut out soda and candy from my diet and I am juuuuuust barely starting to feel the difference in my clothes as they are slightly fitting better. :rocker:

so anyways, I am motivated and will be posting in here desiring info and training tips on how to eat more healthily, how to train more effeciently and properly specifically for basketball; and also how to increase my vertical leap.

Thanks in advance to all the expert and experienced advice I well get!!

Ryan

Watch the posts from people that are conducting dynamic lifting, such as
Olympic motions, or plyometric stuff - all those exercises should be good
for your VERT as well as sprint speed - :)
