Hey guys and gals! As the name implies I'm still kinda new to the iron game. I've been lifting consistently for 7 mos. now. Still building a foundation of strength. I'm 37 yrs. old, so I got a late start in this. But better late than never. I'm already stronger now than I was in my teens and twenties. I lift at home using freeweights only. I have no training partner/spotter because no one is dedicated enough (I've gone through 2 already). I do have a power rack so the spotter thing isn't really an issue. I'm currently following a program by Stuart McRobert which seems to be working well for me. I look forward to picking the brains of those here that are stronger and more experienced. That's all folks.

Hello To All, Dumbbell.
Welcome to the "Iron Game", been doing it for 43 yrs., & still going strong. This is a tuff activity to do by your self, but it can be done. In an ideal situation, if you could manage to join a gym, your workouts could possibly be alot more productive. It ain`t where you start,(37 is not too old), its where your going that matters. If you are curious to read more from the perspective of someone who has been training for over 4 decades, check out my blog.
Keep Training!!

Thanks guys!

I checked out a couple gyms here locally, and they seemed to me to be "machine farms". I prefer barbells and dumbbells. I do have a membership to the local YMCA, but I just do cardio there. I may have to try a lifting session there.

I'll check out your blog bigback, thanks.
