Hi all,
I am 42 yo, 6'1" and 185lbs. I think my body fat is about 12%. I have been training for about 5 years now and have reached a plateau. I'm having trouble putting on new muscle and keeping what I have. So, I'm here to find out why.

welcome to IM.

Most of the time it's bad nutrition.
I hope find what you are looking for.

And Welcome to IM :thumb:

Thanks all for the welcome.

My exercise program was an EDT workout that I did about 3 months ago. I got injured and haven't worked out since then. It consisted of separate workouts for legs, arms, shoulders and chest/back. It was going great as the weights kept going up. I went to the trainer I was going to for a body comp and my fat % stayed the same but my lean mass went down by 2 lbs. I asked how this could be and he said that my brain probably made new neural connections in my muscles. So the muscles I have were being used more efficiently without getting bigger. It sounds nice but I wasn't happy to hear that.

My diet consists of lean meats like chicken, buffalo, pork, beef and fish. Along with lots of greens veggies, nuts and whole grains. I really don't know how many calories I should be getting. I just try to eat as much as I can. I also do post workout shakes with carbs and thats it for supplementation.

I can see why it might be my diet as I am working hard in the gym.

Welcome aboard!
