Hey everyone, My name is Tom, I am 17 and from the UK, I am 5ft 11, and weight 164lb. I intend to gain around 40 pounds.

I have wanted to start training and gaining weight for ages now, and finally got around to joining a gym 2 days ago. I went today for my first time and I enjoyed it. I have done my research on prorgrams, and printed off a few pages from here to help. But, what I do need help with is food products and it's contens. Eg. Fibre, and Protine.

Could people guide me in what to eat and why? And what not to eat??
 
Try and eat plenty of steak, chicken and fish at least once a day. I try and get at least 1 or 2 servings of meat a day ...get lots of complex carbs and dont be afraid of fats, if ur concern is putting on weight then u are gonna put on a little fat anyway, fat is good for extra calories that u will definately need. What ive been doing works for me, may not work for others, try different things and record ur weight on a weekly basis and you'll find what works for you
 
Okay, thank you, that helps - I was wondering about what sort of meat I would need. I've read that I need calories too, and not needless calories. Could you suggest anything for that?

Carbs, Protein, and Fat are calories
