Hi everyone, I'm new here and looking to be around for a while.
I used to be in great shape when I was in the Army. In late 2003,
I was hit with shrapnel from the floor pan of a humvee and an IED.
This sent shrapnel into my back, shattered my tailbone as well. I
spent about 4 months at Walter Reed in DC recovering. Fast forward
to today, It has been 6 yrs and 13 surguries later and I am FINALLY
one of the lucky ones to be pain free.

Unfortunately, my body has been neglected. Now I am looking to get
back into fighting shape. No longer taking all the meds I used to take,
I feel like I can do it again. My goal is to get back into the Army, so, I
have a lot of work to do. Looking for some good advise and a good swift
kick when i need it. Thanks for listening, and if you ever need anything,
just ask.

Spent five years in the U.S. Navy, but the first year of my military service was spent on an army base, Fort Benjamin Harrison in Indiana, for "A" and "C" school.

Best wishes on your journey back to "fighting shape."

Thanks man. I have about 60lbs to get there.

You're not alone. I'm 6'1" and about 205. The last (and only) cut, I got down to 150. Doubt very much that the weight I've gained in the past two years is all muscle. lol

What are you doing to drop the weight?

And what was your MOS?

I served on a destroyer as their rated journalist/photographer. Ton of collateral duties, of course, including postal clerk, personnel/yeoman (glorified secretary), navigation team, security (first ribbon was marksman with a .45), mop jockey, and more.
