Hey guys.
Me and my mate are planning on going to LA and also Vegas, sometime in the next 8 months.
We are just wanting to get some answers on a few things, sorry if there's a ton of questions, Any help would be gladly appreciated.

1 - What are the 4 season dates in america ie - June is summer there i believe, winter, spring autumn is what from till.

2 - We are looking at staying at a beach front resort overlooking the ocean in los angelas, we are not looking at venturing further then 30 min on the coast of cali from la, i see there is like santa monica etc just wanting to find out whats great whats not.

3 - Skydiving - Should we do it in LA or in Vegas anyone been ?

4 - Where is the best place to stay in anaheim for 2 days - 450us max, i was thinking disneyland resort but really is it really worth the extra money...

5 - Where is the best place to stay in hollywood for 2 days for uni versal studios - just wanting to find out what you guys recommend, night life etc or stuff to do during the day when we aint at universal studios and what to stay clear off.

6 - How much does an average person need for food every day when holidaying there, i was thinking $100 us per day for 14 days should do the trick, but it works out almost dearer then my share of hotels hehe.

7 - Are there any cheap clothing places to buy good clothes not dogy rip offs round la area?

8 - We are thinking of getting a convertible and driving from la to vegas and back, just wanting to find out what the drive is like, how long including traffic, how much on fuel to get there, if a convertible is the best option compared to a nice sedan.

9 - Comedy clubs - are there any awesome comedy clubs in la or vegas, isnt pauly shores comedy club in la ? love stand up i am really wanting to see joe rogan or pauly shore (yer i kno his stand up aint that great but he was awesome back in the day) and whats the average cost to see it.

10 - Is there anything that you can recommend doing in LA to kill some time, or stuff that i have to do, i was thinking diving with the great white sharks if we have enough money but thats pretty dear ;anyone ?

Cheers i really appreciate this.

my .02.....the closest hotel to the santa monica pier is the loews hotel. its a primo location and of course, right next to venice beach. i was there a year and a half ago.

Yes, June is summer. It is winter now. Spring coming up.
The odd thing about southern Cali...is on any given day, the temperature can be 20' different by just driving 30 miles.

Price range?
 I live in southern cali. I live about 7 miles from the beach. I am 45 min from Santa Barbara (really great place to visit...one of the most beautiful drives up the coast to get there! Ocean on one side, mountains on the other side of highway.) I am about 30 min from Malibu, 45 from Santa Monica. Disneyland is 90 min in great traffic...but up to 2 1/2 hours if you get on the 101 or 405 at the wrong time of the day. I've been to Disneyland 100 times. Lots of ideas for hotels. Hmmm...so much great stuff.

oh...here's the Disney question. 450/day or for 2 days. If you're thinking of Disney resort...I'd book it as soon as you set your dates...and then cancel you change your mind. There are 3 "Disneyland hotels". Paradise Pier isn't really worth it. It's older and a long walk. For a less expensive rate, you can stay walking distance at what they call "good neighbor hotels". The Grand California is AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!!! The lobby exits to California Adventure and Downtown Disney. Disneyland hotel is good too. You step out of the hotel to Downtown Disney and can ride the Monorail to Disneyland.

Stay clear of the 405 between 7am-9am, 3pm-6pm. LOL.

I'm about 30 min from Universal. Dang...I should rent out my house to you!
I wouldn't stay in that area. Well, wait. Do you have kids...or just 2 adults? Age??? I don't know much about the nightlife...but...my friends do... I can find out ANYTHING!

I'd stay in Santa Monica or Malibu and just drive up through the mountains (Kanan Dune) to get to Universal...or hop on the 10. Just my 2 cents.

Really nice... The Getty Center

OMG The Camarillo Premium Outlets
This is where I live. Check out the stores on the website. Coach, Ralph Lauren, Nike, Adidas, BCBG, DKNY, BEBE, Bose, Fox, Saks Fifth Avenue , Diesel....etc.
:D

Have friends that do this drive all the time. Apx 4 1/2 hours...let me get back to you. The drive isn't the greatest. It can be HOT! I wouldn???t get a convertible for that. I'd get a convertible for the days in Santa Monica, Malibu, Santa Barbara!!! You can get cheap flights from Burbank Airport (LAX is too big/busy to just hop to Vegas.) Burbank is like a drive through almost... Takes about 30 min flight (again, APX). I can get back to you. All my friends get out more than me. ;)

OH YEAH...Lots of ideas!!!!!!!!!!!! I don't dive...but my BF/exBF (whatever he is) does. It's cold water, I believe. I don't dive. But I think they say it's on the cool side.

Check out The Channel Islands. I can see them from here. I think good places to dive around there. I'm just 'thinking out loud' right now...but my guess would be...save your money and dive somewhere KNOWN for diving. It might be a great expense and little fun here. But...I'm not sure.

Venice...down by Santa Monica. Supposed to be a Freak show!!!!!!!! (Just a place to walk around for a few hours.)

Santa Monica beach, pier and third street promenade, and... the Mecca of Bodybuilding ??? GOLD???S GYM, Venice California!

And a MUST: The FIREHOUSE!:rocker:

Here's something I just cut and pasted from a google search just now:
Speaking of the food out there in LA??? Fuggedaboudit! I chowed down at the famous bodybuilder???s restaurant THE FIREHOUSE every day ??? sometimes more than once! The Firehouse literally has a menu just for bodybuilders: Egg whites, chicken, fish, lean beef, buffalo???. Rice, yams, potatoes, oatmeal, pasta, fruits, veggies and any other bodybuilding food you can think of.

You even get to mix and match ??? ???pick one protein, and pick one carb.??? ??? OR if you???re on a bulking program ??? ???pick one protein, two carbs!??? ??? OR??? get a load of this ??? ???pick two proteins, one veggie.??? Yeah, you guessed it ??? that???s the ???cutting program.??? Not only was the food great and 100% bodybuilding diet friendly, the service was amazing! I must have had four different waiters, waitresses and servers at my beck and call. Bodybuilding Secrets.Com gives the Firehouse Restaurant in Venice two enthusiastic thumbs up!

Cheers i really appreciate this.
.

Hope I didn't overwhelm you.
Those are just my thoughts. Hopefully more people have some ideas. I don't know you, or what you like. I can get you lots more specific info though....if you want.

Have fun planning. :)
