Is it true the longer the hpta is shutdown the less chance of restarting it?

If someone has hypogonadal levels of testosterone under 200 and low levels of LH for a long period of time without TRT/HRT and then attempts a restart of the HPTA would the chances be lower of it working? Lets say someone attempts a restart with in 3 months of having low testosterone levels vs attempting one after 3 months. Do the systems that recieve and generate testosterone start to atrophy and die if an extreamly low testosterone state remains for an extended period of time?

Secondary hypogonadism does not mean defective testes. Leydig cell desensitization is a possibility, but not one that is likely to have a noticeable impact on your outcomes. Fix whatever is causing you secondary hypogonadism and you will produce normal ranges of test.
