Is rock'n'roll officially dead?

:thumb: Anyone else want to post a/some local favorite(s)? :thumb:

You like them huh? The drummer Chris Smith is actually one of my best friends. It's a nice combo of Lucky Boys Confusion and Logan Square(15 Minutes Late). I honestly think they are going to make it big.

MySpace.com - Zenyth - Cardiff, UK - Rock / Alternative - www.myspace.com/zenythmusic

Seen them a few times around Wales, really good band. The demo was well worth the £2 i spent for it. Bargain.

MySpace.com - HUNTED - Cardiff - Metal / Progressive / Rock - www.myspace.com/huntedrock

More of a metal band than a rock band, but still. Probably my favourite "local" band.

MySpace.com - Sicopathy - Cwmbran, Wales - Rock / Alternative / Indie - www.myspace.com/sicopathy

Had to put it in, my old band (currently broken up/on lengthy hiatus).

Hey Gaz, your band sound pretty good, you are all obviously decent musicians. Almost Soundgardern-esque/ hints of Metallica.

Lol, thanks man :).

We're trying to write some stuff still, but what with the band being broken up, me living in Cardiff, Dan living in Oxford, Tom living in Cheltenham, and Lew living in Cwmbran...it gets a little complicated ;).

Metallica was def. an influence though. Somebody told me our singer sounded vaguely like Dave Mustaine from Megadeth

Its like the Star Wars of music.

You have the amazingly talented and influential black people who invented the Blues and just wanna chill out with a guitar and some bourbon, and on the flip side you have the hip hop niggers who boast about killing people and think the world owes them for unleashing their horseshit "music" on it.

i tried it fucking sucks.

no, you are just an ignorant retard

you didnt "try" anything, you heard some rock on the radio and said these words exactly

"D00D DIZ IS CR00SHALLY GHEY, LOL, ANDN OT GNGASTER AT ALLZ!!!"

Lol, thanks man :).

Megadeth was my favorite band ever and the first metal concert I went to. I'll be the first to admit that Mustaine's singing is much like an annoying mosquito circling aroud yer ear.

That it is, and thats why it ROCKS. :callme:

Awesome, I hope they make it! Word of mouth/internet seems to be the best form of promotion since MTV rarely plays music videos and the radio stations rarely play indie stuff. Maybe a new style of music will come out again and change all that.

Here's the small-time stuff I've been listening too lately.

New Bruises out of Tampa. It's bouncy punk, sort carrying on that early-90's sound.
MySpace.com - NEW BRUISES - TAMPA, Florida - Indie / Punk / Rock - www.myspace.com/newbruises

Local band On Watership Down. Not really my typical genre, but they get some good grooves and breakdowns. Figures the only song they have up now is my least favorite on the cd.
MySpace.com - ON WATERSHIP DOWN - WEST PALM BEACH/jensen bch, Florida - Rock / Hardcore / Punk - www.myspace.com/onwatershipdown

And then we come to Defiance, Ohio. Folk-punk, full of sing-a-longs and just great DIY sound and lyrics. Punk with an upright bass, a hot chick on the cello and banjo, and violinist. Can't beat that. Plus all of their music is available free on their website. download defiance, ohio audio files Oh, Susquehanna, Response to Griot, Road Signs Always Look Better Over Your Shoulder, etc. All great songs.
