Hate to piss in the punchbowl folks, (Dennis Miller is useful for something), but just a reminder that war crimes are being committed by our government in Iraq. I know, I know, many are sick of hearing about this. And there???re more important things going on like ???who???ll win the NBA championship???, ???isn???t NASCAR catching fire???, and ???I bet I can take my benching to another level by tucking my elbows???. Be that as it may, very conservative estimates are that 25,000 Iraqis are dead b/c of Bush???s war of aggression. Your tax dollars are being used to murder people. I know that???s a bit blunt. But let???s use our brains and think about this for a moment. Let???s look at how the ???master??? framed the phenomenon:

We got around to the subject of war again and I said that, contrary to his attitude, I did not think that the common people are very thankful for leaders who bring them war and destruction.

"Why, of course, the people don't want war," Goering shrugged. "Why would some poor slob on a farm want to risk his life in a war when the best that he can get out of it is to come back to his farm in one piece. Naturally, the common people don't want war; neither in Russia nor in England nor in America, nor for that matter in Germany. That is understood. But, after all, it is the leaders of the country who determine the policy and it is always a simple matter to drag the people along, whether it is a democracy or a fascist dictatorship or a Parliament or a Communist dictatorship."

"There is one difference," I pointed out. "In a democracy the people have some say in the matter through their elected representatives, and in the United States only Congress can declare wars."

"Oh, that is all well and good, but, voice or no voice, the people can always be brought to the bidding of the leaders. That is easy. All you have to do is tell them they are being attacked and denounce the pacifists for lack of patriotism and exposing the country to danger. It works the same way in any country."

That???s from an interview btn Gustav Gilbert and Hermann Goering while he awaited trial for war crimes. If you cannot see a stunning parallel btn Bush???s case for war and Goering???s theory of coercion, then you don???t deserve the big brain God gave you???.you deserve only unprotected spinal marrow.

Please do not be played for rubes by the slick, elitist manipulators we call our ???leaders???--Bush et.al. Good day.

:haha: Decker, this ought to get a rise out of those who have strong political opinions.

well usually not as well as it worked for Bush recently. Fear is a powerful tool, thats for sure. They managed to make the entire election of patriotic and not, about values and not. everything was so black and white, evil and good, and it worked like a charm. its hard to understand how so many people can't see the manipulation and the cheating, lying, and just straight corruption that is going on...

Sorry Decker but nothing is more important then my bench press. I just cant be bothered with political news. If I spent time thinking about what the Gov. was doing, I might forget to do a steroid shot and that would mess up my blood levels.

Well, when the collective conscience of our great people is dormant in the face of obvious corruption and evil, a swift kick is sometimes needed.

Couldn't agree more my friend. Playing the american electorate for rubes is a full time job for Bush when he's grabbing all he can get with both hands. Some people Ignore the truth of the matter in favor of political ideology/ends and that is what really kills me.

well if you can't get involved personally in the political arena after what we have been thruogh as a country in the last 8 years then I don't want you around, we've had more than a swift kick. what more incentive do you need for gods sake..

Wake up Decker 95% of all people are slaves, You can bitch all you want it will never change. Just Obey, so you and your family wont be taken away for re-education.

well you have to hand it to them, this administration are master manipulators, they can turn nothing into something, even if it means taking a national crisis and using it to spin a political agenda unto the country. They made it very simple, if you are religious and fit into teh GOP mold, then you have morals and are a patriot, and if you support that adulteror Clinton and don't own guns or support the war, you have no values or morals. the way Republicans make it sounds one would think that we are out here performing abortions in the back alley with coathangers.. its quite the picture they have painted. Its too bad the slient majority doesn't make as much noise as crack pot religious right, maybe this country would seem more balanced. I guess there is a reason we are the slient majority thou eh

Gr81, the majority of americans are self-interested to a fault. The only time any action is taken is when something directly affects them personally. So much for being 'my brother's keeper'. But you know all this. There is an effort spearheaded by the Fed. Gov. to insulate the public from the killings and casualties in Iraq so that the public furor will be minimized. Hell, even in the bible the whole story is the lethargy and recalcitrance of the masses from following God's word....and that is the all-powerful speaking to them.

Did you tuck in your elbows?

I'll be honest with you, I keep my elbows out. Is tucking them in better for power or better for bodybuilding?

Power Lifters tuck their elbows...I tried this w/ closed grip BP and strained a pec. Now I don't keep my elbows in.

I trained with a power lifter for about 2 months 8 years ago. He had me drop my workout weight about 10% and we worked on power lifting form. By the end of those 2 months my bench went up 30Lbs and my squat 40lbs. I didn't get stronger or bigger, I just think all that technique work changed my lifts.

I just donated more of my money for the war cause :thumb:

25,000, that's all. Wait...........I'll load some more bombs.

War is good for the economy!

And Dale Jr. needs to be shot for wrecking MW!

This will get a rise!

powerlifters keep their elbows in b/c triceps are the most important strength aspect of the bench and it allows them to utilize that. For a bodybuilding you would want to mimic the chest natural movement which is a fly like motion, so keeping the elbows out would be more beneficial

Fear is a helluva drug.
