I've read numerous articles and heard countless radio shows dealing with the women's divisions (primarily figure & bikini) where the competitor's glutes (or butt) is referred to as "bootie." It seems rather harmless, but then again, the commentators and/or authors in question are almost exlusively men. I wanted to know what members of the industry in 2012 thought of this term. Was it just a playful spin on the more formal term "glutes," or did some people take offense?
Check out my article. Please leave comments! What do you think about the term "bootie" as used in the fitness industry? Clearly it gets a reaction. Should commentators, authors, judges, continue to use it?
