Once I was in a band and we practiced to play at this local venue. It was a 100% substance free shindig. It was so ghey. My friends and I felt like playing as a joke. All the bands that played were emo and they would jump around attempting to play their instruments while screaming. True story.

So we practiced probably three times and played three songs. Umm let's see, we played...Billie Jean, Godzilla(Blue Oyster Colt), and Take me Out(Franz Ferdinand). The only song I really liked out of these three was Billie Jean but I could give a shit, it was fun.

When our band was introduced we wanted the announcer to say that we liked stories about King Arthur and enjoy fudge.

We got on stage and everyone was giving us these weird looks. First time I've even been on stage(It wasn't really a stage though). I think I forgot to breath a couple times. Anyways we played our songs and we were pretty good actually. A bunch of dirt bags up front started talking shit to us as we were playing. I later learned they were drunk and on cocaine or something, I don't know. It was funny because our guitar player was talking shit back as he was playing.

Our lead singer eventually got sick of all the shenagins and people dissing us so he yelled out "Fuck emo!". I think we got boo-ed off or something, I can't remember in all the excitement. Our set ended with people stopping a fight from happening right in front. I walked away triumphantly and when I left that shithole some guy said "Don't ever come back, again" in some whiney little dramatic voice. Typical emo. lawl.

We named our band "Mr. Scrivens" after my English teacher. There were posters around the school saying that Mr. Scrivens was playing at the venue. Sillyness. Good times though. I recommend that everyone should play in a band and insult the most predominant group of people attending.

Some of our other options for band names were: Fudge, Fudge and the Gang, Bon Jovi II, Nocturnal Missions, Fudge Packers, and Fudge Express.

Have you ever been in a band? Any stories that are worth a "keke" or two?

When I was 15 my friend Pyro modded his garage with carpet all over the walls and ceiling and then we stole guitar mags from the 7-11 on the corner and stapled pictures all over the place and spray painted the carpet with psychedelic patterns. We jammed all the time for a few months, then they watched the Doors and started smoking weed and got lazy. We would get ready to jam, they would smoke and think they were really going to jam out and then they would only last for 10 minutes then they would just all lay back on the couch and listen to me play for an hour or 2.

lawl, sounds like my friends.

I bought a nice washburn guitar from my boss six months ago, but I have been too busy with school and work to learn how to play it. I did learn to play the first 15 seconds of a few different songs, but what good is that really?

lawl, when I started playing guitar I did the same thing, I learned the opening riffs to all my favorite songs. I've since transitioned to bass though.
