Attached is my Blood work from earlier this year. I don't know how to read all the numbers and couldn't tell if there were any areas for concern.

So I am asking some of the seasoned vets to please take a look and let me know if anything looks fishy. My GP Dr wasn't open to TRT at all. I doubt he would give it to someone that needs it.

I am 44 and fixed so no more kids. I am open to doing TRT self scripted if things look ok.

Everything looks really good except you have a flipped differential( more lymphocytes than neutrophils. Have you had infectious mono? If so id think there would be a notation for atypical lymphs but that isnt always the case.

hell I would have to wait a month to get less feedback from my doc than you can get here in 2 hours!

If you're talking about "mononucleosis" than yes I did have it when I was about 15yrs old. It sucked, because I got it just before thanksgiving and couldn't eat.

Other than that is there any reason I couldn't start myself on a low dose TRT and check my BW in 6 months?

Im a Mlt and am in the process of getting a masters in medical lab sciences. Thats the beauty of this forum though a lot if smart folks on here( not at all calling myself smart) with a variety of experience and backgrounds. You just have to ask the right questions and usu will get some useful feedback.

To the op, you mention wanting trt but your doctor didnt order any endocrine labs other that tsh. Did you ask him for a complete endi panel? A lot of doctors wont order them unless they suspect a problem or you specifically request it. At 44 i don't see any reason why he would deny the lab test if you ask. I can tell you since all the commercials for hrt, androgel, cialis etc have been playing regularly the number of ordered tot. Testosterone tests coming through have quadrupled, but not very many complete hormone panels, which is what should be performed as its more than just total T that comes in to play. Ask him or her for a full endo panel and if they refuse see a hrt endocrinologist

I only asked to have my T lvl check at the time of the visit. I didn't know there was more to ask for and he didn't offer. My annual physical is covered by work, but the T test cost me an additional $70. Do the complete hormone panels cost a lot to have checked? So if it doesn't cost that much I could just hit up the lab and bypass the DR. Or wait til January for my annual physical.

Im not sure what you're referencing. There are no hormone assays on the panels you provided. Testosterone cant be tested in any point of care test so im confused. You can go to labcorps or other lab service and pay for a free and total test level as well as add other testing as you like. You may have to pay for it but at least you will have an idea of what you need to approach your doctor with. As for price you can look it up on their website. I hope this helps. If not ill try to explain.

I provided the entire list of my test results. I asked for my testosterone to be checked and my Dr added that to the test, but it wouldn't normally be tested. However Dave 236 suggested that I should have gotten a complete test to include endo panel. So what I was trying to say is I can either have the completed test done out of pocket now or wait til my annual physical in Jan and have it added to the normal test at my cost.

There is no testosterone test listed in the panels you provided. Yes you can pay oyt of pocket to labcorps or a similar service or if yoy prefer you can wait til jan if you want ins to cover it. It doesnt apoear your dr checked your test levels however.

All good man. Like he said, labcorp can check too. Just got mine checked through them. It was quick, easy, and like 50 bucks.

No problem i thought either that was the case or your doc tried to bs you. The reason he us giving you a hard time about trt is, like most Gps he thinks 400 is normal; and while it is technically on tbe low side of normal i wouldnt be happy with mine being there. Plus you can tell more by checking free test levels with it. If your free test is low then a ufologist or trt doc will usu give you what you need to get both up into the higher end of normal. If i were you id go ahead and have at least e2 and estridiol checked as well. And next time before you have labs drawn be sure and hydrate well. I suspect that is why the gfr and creatinine is a little off as those 2 go hand in hand and if you were a bit dehydrated at the time it can skew the numbers.
