Mayor Bloomberg thinks police should go on strike until we get stronger gun laws!

This, right here!

If Bloomberg were so against guns he wouldn't have an armed security detail.

I know this was meant as sarcasm. But it is very true. When these guys say you can't own the means to protect yourself and your family, but they have armed body guards, it is a glaring example of how the elite think of the rest of us.

Well Im totaly against the idea of not needing a permit/licence, but it is an interesting argument you make. We have the right to drive cars but it is considered a revokable privelage, we have the right to drink alcohol but you must be over 21 .

Neither are in the Bill of Rights. I'm not personally strongly opposed to needing a permit, nevertheless I think it's unconstitutional.

Background checks I am fine with though it should be a states rights issue. Permits should be a states rights issue as well. An AR-15 is no different than my .30-30, both can be fired quickly and are deadly in the right hands. The AK-47 comment Barry made is yet another time he shows his true colors and they are all about taking away freedoms, not preserving them. There is nothing here besides the facts, gun ownership is not the cause of the problem, simple as that.

It is simply impossible to legislate away random and crazy.

Exactly, any knee jerk reaction to something like this has long standing, mostly negative ramifications.
