"On a bluff overlooking Omaha Beach is the final resting place for over 9300 American soldiers, killed on D-Day, and in the weeks thereafter. "

[h=2]John McCrae: In Flanders Fields (1915) [/h]
In Flanders fields the poppies blow (1)
Between the crosses, row on row
That mark our place; and in the sky
The larks, still bravely singing, fly
Scarce heard amid the guns below.

We are the Dead. Short days ago
We lived, felt dawn, saw sunset glow,
Loved and were loved, and now we lie
In Flanders fields.

Take up our quarrel with the foe:
To you from failing hands we throw
The torch; be yours to hold it high.
If ye break faith with us who die
We shall not sleep, though poppies grow
In Flanders fields.

Much respect and appreciation for doing something that takes a true courage.
My father in law and I had one of our talks the other day about the vietnam wall and till this day he cannot get himself to go to it. He was a LRRP during his first two tours.

To all the men that served in active duty who are no longer with us. Like my father, who served 33 months in the Navy during WWII. Came home to lead a long and productive live, and passed away at 86 a few years ago. Best to you all.
