What do you guys think is best to mix with protien?
A guy at the supplement store told me not to use milk??
why?? Is he correct?

yeah, somebody told me milk binds up the protien and dosent allow it to digest properly, i don't know if that's true or not...

Milk has lots of sugar, thats what evryone will tell you here. I would only think the milk would slow down the absorbtion if you were drinking anything but skim b/c of the fat. I've never heard of that before, but then I'm no expert. Personally I like water because its cheaper, easier, and faster. It doesn't spoil if I can't chug it rite away. I save milk for a glass straight up b/c I don't drink it much. Love it but never get enough of it heh so I have to savior it.

it all depends on when you're drinking the protein and what your goal at hand is.

if you're drinking a whey protein drink post work-out, then you're better off with water, you want quick absorption.

if you're cutting, you're always better off with water, the only milk I currently drink is 3/4 cup with my morning oatmeal.

if you're bulking and drinking the protein drink at any time other than post work-out use milk for the added casien protein, fat and calories.

Thank you Prince....
you have resolved my confusement:)

Protein shakes taste better with milk.....that's how I decided.

Postworkout I think is the only time you really should do your whey with water, because you want quick absorption.

as everyone else stated, no milk with your post workout shake.
and depending on your goals it may/may not be ok. if you looking to gain more muscle then yes the added calories are a bonus. If your goal is to shed fat, then the simple sugars arent going to help.
personally I dont do well with milk.. ALWAYS have used water and crushed ice :)
