and on the look out for omega 3's. From what I read there is flax oil but it only does EPA. Any recommendations on an omega 3 supplement she can use(EPA/DHA)?

Thanks in advance.
Kris

Vegetarian. She still uses butter, dairy, the good stuff. She just doesn't eat meat(fish, beef, chicken, etc...).

She takes my all the whey protein shakes to compensate for lack of protein.

some of the smart balance products contain extra omegas, love their whole line.

also go for a high quality fish oil(right now I am using wholemega) because you can go cheaper however the epa/dha content will usually be lower.

The issue here would be the FISH. I know nothing replaces fish oil itself, but there has to be something that would be close. Oh yea, she can't swallow pills so I need to find a liquid. She just likes being difficult:roflmao:

a lot of juices, yogurts and like I said smart balance line all have extra dha and epa in them.

avacado, brazil nuts, eggs...You can also get soya milk with added omega-3, tastes pretty good with cereal

I didn't know Barleans made a similar product, but good to know. Although expensive, I've preferred Udo's over Barleans. Just a personal preference with no rhythm or reason :)

All the flax I saw was labeled with ALA. Does it matter which omega 3's she gets or should the focus be on DHA/EPA

Thanks for the sources on the algae stuff.

Its okay.

Question though since she is a vegetarian(not vegan). On a basic diet what should she supplement with to make up for what she could be missing.

She takes a multi, flax oil, and uses protein shakes. Are there specific things we should look into for her?

Does she eat eggs?
