Hey everyone, my name is Matt. First of all glad to be on the board. Well I am almost 300 pounds, and to be honest I???m sick of it. So I need some help, the problem areas are my gut and upper legs. Just joined the gym and planning on going about 5 times a week to work individual muscle groups and to do extreme cardio. Any help at all would be appreciated. As well can anyone recommend a fat burner and any other supplements that I need to do this. Was thinking about lypo-6 for a fat burner but if anyone got any other suggestions please let me know.

Thanks
Matt

hey welcome i just joined myself.....

im planning a strict diet myself..Im going to the gym everyday....2 times a week w a trainer and the rest 30 min. of cardio on my own. Im using ls7(lean system 7) and its worked so far. With a just once multivitamin daily which takes away my appetite and i feel full most of the time.

I would recommend a daily workout at least 30 min. cardio and weight training. You can try ls7 with a miltivitamin and stick to it till you see results. The hardest part for me is the eating and these supplements have helped me not crave food as often and i feel energetic and more alive. Its a struggle but you just have to say no to the food and after a couple of days you get used to it. What i do is taste the food rather than feeling obligated to eat it and the last bite oe so i throw out or dont eat. I wouldnt recommend it but u can try it. Stop feeling guilty and start accepting this new change into your life. I hope ive helped somehow.

I would strongly not suggest hydroxy-cut.. or the other extreme supplements because they have chemicals and other things that give side effects. The more natural the better because eventually one day you stop the supplements you would want to be able to continue with no relapse. So start with ls7 and multivitamins and excersise everyday..at least 30 min. on the treadmill or crosstrainer or weight training like 2-3 times a week with a trainer. And most important dont eat after 6 p.m. You will sleep better, lose weight faster and will feel a difference in everyway.

Goodluck.

The biggest thing with losing fat is managing your diet, this isnt the same as dietING. Go to the nutrition section and read the stickies there, and ask any questions you have afterwards. Basically, eat little and often (4-8 small meals a day) and count your calories. FitDay - Free Weight Loss and Diet Journal is a good site for logging your food intake.

Dont workout that many days a week. 3 is plenty for weight training. You can add cardio after the weight training sessions on the same day. Read the stickies in the training section on how to put together a decent program, and again - ask any questions you have after reading around. Stick to compound freeweights movements, id suggest a fullbody 3x a week split.

Get these two things right. You have no need to waste your money on expensive "fat burner" supplements when all it takes is dedication and knowledge.

I highly suggest starting a journal in the journal section. The members are sometimes more happy to give advice there because they can see exactly what youre doing (or what youre not doing). Everyone is supportive, and if you put the effort it before long youll have a group of progress-stalkers :P.

Good luck and welcome to IM.

Most fat burners have loads of caffeine in them, which is a double edged thing.

Loads of caffeine can increase cortisol levels, which in turn increases insulin, and fat and carbs get stored, usually around the belly.

I also don't think the OTC ones work all that well until your bodyfat is quite low.

It is all about eating healthy and training, weights are important, and also some cardio. Low impact at your weight.

It took you awhile to put on the extra bodyfat, it will take awhile to take it off.

It is all possible though.
