New FDA Letter on Kratom: Mitrasafe website misleading, claims inaccurate
The United States Food and Drug Administration recently posted a letter addressed to Industrial Chemicals declaring their product Mitrasafe to be illegally sold and marketed. Once again, Industrial Chemicals have proven themselves to be among the bad actors in the kratom market.
The letter explains that although Industrial Chemicals submitted a New Dietary Ingredient Notification to FDA, the latter declared Mitrasafe to not meet the minimum threshold to be reasonably expected to be safe.
Nonetheless, Industrial Chemical decided to sell the product anyway, taking the additional (and absurd) step of claiming to be in full compliance with the law. This, of course, is not true.
In response, FDA sent a five page letter explaining that it?s not enough to submit an NDIN and have it objected to.
