Hey people, i am new to this forum and found it through google, i have become really interested in becoming a bodybuilder, i have one problem, i realised that you have to gain weight to turn it to muscle, but, my body weight is already quite high and i was wondering if anyone knew how i could turn my body weight already into muscle and what diet to follow etc...etc...

Welcome aboard!

Reading the stickies on dieting will help.

If ure body weight is high as in, lots of fat, you need to go after a fat loss program, both in terms of diet and training. But first things first: have u trained before? What are ur eating habits like?? What are your stats (bodyweight, height, age etc)...

I was going to the gym regularly before christmas, but doing the basic crosstrainer 20min workout, and some weightlifting afterwards. I'm 17, about 17st, 5ft9, my atm muscle feels rather good to me except you cant see any of it lol, my legs are rather good due to my years of playing football, just my stomach area, chest, back and arms i will work on the most

what did ur weight lifting routine look like?? How long u been doing the same thing? Can u describe a sample diet of yours (current)? So u are 238 pounds or so at 5 foot 9 and cant "see" any muscle... My best guess tells me you need to cut some fat and add some new lean mass... U are young, so ur body should respond quickly to stimulus and changes with a proer program and dedication :)

I don't really have any eating habbits, i just eat like a regular person, i dont eat loads of rubbish or anything. Usually once i had finished 20 on the crosstrainer i would do 50 reps on each machine at about 15 maybe 17.5

Machines being like leg press plus the arm workouts (im not sure on the names of them, sorry) but it was 50 reps on each, doing 10 with a small minute or so break in between

Def. read the stickes on BOTH training and dieting...

U eat like a regular person but want to bodybuild..Unfortunately (or fortunately) most of us dont "eat like normal persons" lol.

ha ha, ill certainly be changing my diet to weight loss etc...etc and my workout to bodybuilding

Good stuff.

Start eating more frequently, figure out your required caloric levels and macros (protein, fats, carbs) for fat loss and make sure you train every bhody part once per week or so...Hard but smart training...Dont forget to rest...Its underrated!!!

Hey Tommy, more advice if youre interested!? If you haven't already started a cardio/ lifting regimen then do it today! Also, keep eating, but eat the best quality you can, watch your caloric intake, try to keep it under 3000 per day and cut as much fat from your diet as possible. Cut way back on your fast foods, your greasy foods, eat your green veggies and quality meats low in fat, high in protein like salmon etc. The fewer the legs your food has the better, ie from beef, to chicken to fish etc. BIGGEST thing to do to notice fast healthy changes, do 21 to 25 minutes of cardio early in the morning BEFORE YOU EAT! get your heart rate up to 80%, (probably about 140 bpm ish) and keep it there the entire 21 -25 minutes every morning and you will se the difference within 4 to 6 weeks.

Thanks mate, no matter how far into bodybuildin i am im always open to more advice

Cheers pal, appreciate it :)
