I used to be a video game addict growing up playing my nintendo, sega genesis, nintendo 64 and playstation 2 but stopped playing video games about 5 years ago when i started college. During my four years here at college, I've played a few games here and there on the xbox 360 and ps3 since my friends have these consoles but i just could never get into it. I felt weird for losing passion to play video games because the controls are so complex today that either i hate playing it because i suck or today's new "high tech" games just don't have the same feel as the ones i used to play back in the old days such as zelda or golden eye 007.

Last week, my old roommate moved out and my friend moved in along with his girlfriend and now they're my new roommates (there's 5 of us now). He has every console ... xbox 360, ps3 and the wii. Well, he is away on spring break in Arizona and my other roommates are in Costa Rica with friends so i am all alone here at my house. For those of you wondering why i didn't go anywhere, part of it is because i work, part of it is because i have a lot of meetings/appointments/paperwork and the other part is i can't afford to.

Anyways, i decided to play some games such as gears of war, Call of Duty and Madden 09 and while it's amazing with great graphics, gameplay, sound, etc.. i get bored so easily. I guess it's because i am all grown up and my free time is just consumed with so much work and shit going on? Who knows.

To get to the point, i decided to give Wii a try for the first time in my life. I played mario kart and tennis and it wasn't too bad. Then i did some searching online and talked to my roommate about it and i never knew that you could download "points" and buy the old classic games that were made for the NES, SNES, Sega, N64 and so forth. I decided to spend $20 bucks and purchased 2000 points. I downloaded, Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Tecmo Bowl and Street fighter.

Man, i had a lot of fucking fun. I was playing for like 3 hours straight. This definitely brought back a lot of memories and i was searching for more games but was disappointed to see some of my favorites not listed at all.

So, my question is .. do any of you guys have Wii and/or do you know anything about this virtual console thing? I want to know if they will be releasing Golden eye 007, Wayne Gretzky 3D hockey or Perfect Dark because i loved those games. Just wondering if there is any information on this?

Sorry for the long post, i am bored as fuck and have been sitting around all week. Spring quarter classes don't start until Monday for me. (We are on a Tri-mester system).

See the pic below for the nice setup we have. We'll be adding a stereo system and more high tech shit that my roommate wants when he gets back. I also added a pic of our bar in the basement just for kicks.

My wii collected dust for about six months before I sold it on ebay. Mario Galaxy, Mario Kart & Zelda: Twilight princess were great, but after I beat those I was done. I think the biggest thing is the online presence. I'm spoiled with Xbox Live, so both the Wii & PS3's online does nothing but disappoint me. Wii friends codes are terrible.. I understand it's good for kids, but I'm not a kid. My niece & nephews have a Wii, but meeting up online to play MK was a nightmare. Once you're friends, you should be friends for all games. Having each game have a unique code you have to distribute ends up not being worth it.

At the time I sold it, they were still impossible to get and actually made a profit. I may at some point get it again but I'm waiting to see games that interest me. I love the classic games, but I have a media center pc setup for my tv & play the roms for free.

I'm actually thinking about selling my PS3 now, as I have a blu-ray player on my laptop.. I'm looking forward to God of War III, but can't decide if I should sell my PS3 now and get a new one next year when the game comes out & the console's price is cut. Also, not sure if owning the system is worth one game I'm looking forward to.

Don't expect to see Goldeneye or Perfect Dark on the Wii's VC. They were developed by Rare, which is now owned by Microsoft. There were rumors about Goldeneye coming out on the XBLA, but last I checked that fell apart.

Try Call of Duty: World at War with the Zapper. You won't be disappointed.

I don't have one, but my brothers do. To add to busyLivin's list (which I agree with): I would say look into Resident Evil: Umbrella Chronicles. Mario Galaxy has incredibly high replay value in my opinion.
