Nunes regrets briefing Trump before intelligence panel [SAD]

House Intelligence Committee Chairman Devin Nunes (R-Calif.) said on Thursday that he regrets informing President Trump of surveillance affecting the president's transition team before he updated his panel."It's a judgement call on my part," he told reporters when asked why he spoke with Trump and the media before House Intelligence Committee Democrats.
"At the end of the day, sometimes you make the right decision, sometimes you don't," Nunes added, noting he could not show the panel information that was given to him by a source.
Nunes declined to disclose his source's identity when asked if it was the White House.
Rep. Jackie Speier (D-Calif.), a member of the House Intelligence Committee, told CNN Thursday that Nunes had apologized "in a generic way" for his actions.
Nunes said Wednesday that the U.S. intelligence community incidentally collected information on members of Trump's transition team, ultimately putting it into various intelligence reports.
"Details about the U.S. persons involved in the incoming administration with little or no apparent foreign intelligence value were widely disseminated in intelligence community reports," he told reporters.
"I want to be clear - none of this surveillance was related to Russia or the investigation of Russian activities or of the Trump team," he added, noting he believes the information was collected legally.
Nunes' remarks on Wednesday added a new wrinkle to Trump's claims earlier this month that former President Barack Obama "tapped his wires" at Trump Tower in New York City last year.
Rep. Adam Schiff (D-Calif.), the House Intelligence Committee's ranking Democrat, voiced frustration on Wednesday over Nunes' handling of the information.
"If accurate, this information should have been shared with members of the committee, but it has not been," he said.
"The chairman also shared this information with the White House before providing it to the committee, another profound irregularity, given that the matter is currently under investigation. I have expressed my grave concerns with the chairman that a credible investigation cannot be conducted this way."

That said...npr has an article on middle class whites lowered life expectancy in the last few years and it's horrifying. It's the first time it's been crystallized for me what the avg gop supporter has had to face....I'd be angry too and want to tear down government

likes like it happened again. mainstream media says something misleading as in " sources say Trump was under surveillance " then Trump repeats it. then medai blast trump saying he has no evidence, then the truth comes out that trump was right. looks like this will be the norm. and altho evidence now backs trump people will still call it lies

... it reminds me of when Obama was elected Potus, from day one, Mitch McConnell said his only goal was to block Obama from getting anything done... for eight years all you'd hear is that Obama was a muslim. a 'nigger, unfit to hold office... the 'right' stood be saying Obama wasn't a citizen, wasn't born here, things that trumpy said were without fact... & it wasn't only that repubs were trashing Obama, it was the vitriol & outright hatred of a legally elected potus ...

picking one or two talking points, some of which dont even make sense grammatically or sensibly- ie I don't even understand what was said, and then ignored absolutely every other thing the man has said and done in his life

reading an article on npr regarding the death rate of high school graduate education level whites between the age of 25-45 Im fucking furious with the obama admin....and even more furious it will get worse under trump admin proposals...I dont know why we as the american people haven't (legally, not treasonous-ly) overthrown our government....for the first time I genuinely "get" why the average trump voter was so fucking angry but I still don't see the logic in how they went about things- they elected a monster as far as I'm considered that undermines government in the worst possible way for the american people

the proposals being passed around are down right dangerous for american health (I dont mean the ahca-I mean shit like water pollution via sewage) and prosperity- it lines the pockets of the already exceptionally wealthy and decimates everyone else

... you could never 'over throw' the USA, it would turn into a military dictatorship 10 minutes after the 'over throw' started.. the powers that be in our country have more control than any of us could even imagine... I do have distant fears of living in a 'police state'.. but I'm old , & don't have the dreams of a young man, I think I'll be under a 'dirt blanket' before a police state, or the bad effects of 'global warming' happen.... ...
