It goes without saying that blacks and Hispanics are arrested and incarcerated at a higher rate than whites. Blacks and Hispanics also make up the vast majority of poor people in the U.S., a social class that is responsible for most of the crime. Being black does not mean you have a higher propensity for crime, it simply means you have a higher likelihood of being poor and therefore a higher likelihood of being exposed to crime. Whites and blacks smoke pot at the same rate, but blacks are the beneficiaries of 4X the arrest rate and 4X the incarceration rate of whites when it comes to drug possession.

If you removed social class and discrimination, you'd have a crime rate among all races that is pretty well distributed.

the supply started in the 80's when the unions were busted of which the highest percentage of union members are blacks. it's also the same time when US prisons began to be privatized with funding by wallstreet investors (Lehman Brothers, BoA, etc.) and other large US firms like IBM, Boeing, AT&T, Honeywell, Macy's, Target and many others.

and what do these prison produce, 100% of all military helmets, ammunition belts, bullet-proof vests, ID tags, shirts, pants, tents, bags, and canteens. Along with war supplies, prison workers supply 98% of the entire market for equipment assembly services; 93% of paints and paintbrushes; 92% of stove assembly; 46% of body armor; 36% of home appliances; 30% of headphones/microphones/speakers; and 21% of office furniture.
