im 16 yrs old and i am looking at different supplements, i am looking at flax oil and creatine, is this stuff really needed, what else do i need (my deit kinda sucks) and how would i convince my parents to buy this stuff, btw my goal is to gain muscke and weight.

If your diet sucks, then supplements aren't going to make a difference. Creatine is not a must. Work on getting your diet down first. Flax seed oil is good though. If I were you I would convince my parents to allow me to purchase flax by saing that it is an oil, just like olive oil and canola oil. Then have them read some articles on how flax is beneficial to not only your health but their health also. Flax is not just a supplement for bodybuilders it can benefit everyone. I tell my parents that they need to be taking in flax or fish oil or some type of omega 3 everyday.

good luck.

For being so young I wouldn't add any supplements just yet. You should try to eat regular food. Try to get at least 1g of protein/lb of bodyweight. If anything I would only use a whey protein supplement. Give your body a chance to grow on it's own.

Yup. Use flax and whey protein, and explain its just llike food. Anything else is a waste for you right now (except maybe some dextrose -- sugar -- for a post workout shake.)

ya i do have whey protein (pro complex) i eat between 4-5 meals a day, but my lunch sucks cause i dont have senior priveleges to go home and make something

So bring something? Cook some food either the night before or in the morning, just wake up 15min. earlier.
What are you eating at lunch that is so bad?

I agree, at 16 you need real food and lots of it!

Forget supplements all together except whey protein, and as TP said that is basically just food. If your parents will not buy that at 16 you can get a part-time job, I did. ;)

If your diet sucks then get that in order, there are numerous threads here on diet, nutrition and examples of diets. There are also several articles on the main site:

Some basic rules are:

1.) Six meals per day (eat every 3 hours)
2.) 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight (minimum)
3.) Eat clean, no fast food or junk food.

we'll for lunch, theres pizza, more pizza, burritos, and other order in fast-food our school gets. is this the time to start liking tuna

Don't forget about Beef and Chicken.

On a side Note, MMMMMMM PIZZA.

Yeah, bring some tuna instead. Or cook a chicken breast the night before.

If you want to get serious about your diet you need to forget school lunches and start packing some food. Are you allowed to go home for lunch?

It takes time and effort and it's not easy in high school, but it can be done.

Even a chicken or tuna sandwich on whole wheat with an apple and milk would do great here...for someone like yourself in high school...easy to make, pack, and cheap too. Won't go bad in your locker either...hell...get you mom to make it for ya the night before.

hey there, also in high school and on a bulk
i know what u mean about food at school... however i'm lucky and theres fairly healthy sandwiches for sale...
generally what i do is bring in 2 tuna (or salmon, or sometijmes just one chicken burger--chicken breast of course) to school to eat bewtween 10-11 in the morning... i workout at lunch, have a post workout shake, and eat 1-3 sandwiches (number of sandwiches depends if i work after school or not) for after lunch until i get home
