I had a question about suing for personal injury as the result of a car accident. Just wondering if anyone in here had any experience of any sort with the subject.
I have a friend who was hit by a drunk driver(0.15) and as a result went to a chiropractor for a few months and car was totaled or close to it. So I was talking to her yesterday and said she didn't get an attorney and was gonna see what his insurance offered and not take anything less then $10k. I recommended that she at least talk to a lawyer who will advice you for free. it just seems you could really take someone to town who hit you drunk, and I know you have to have more then 10k insurance coverage. I don't know the details of her injuries but they weren't too bad.
Anyone have any experience with this? Don't insurance companies try and short you?
Any lawyers know ballparks of what you could recieve from a personal injury lawsuit when being hit by a drunk driver? I would imagine a judge in a civil court would have no mercy.
