Your diet? EAT SOMETHING!!! LOL, 118lbs? My 13 yr old son is your size already and he is SMALL! Really, you need to FEED your muscles...at this point you probably dont have much fat on you so you need lots of calories. You need to lift 3-4 days a week, light at first so you can get used to the movements and then slowly workout heavier and heavier testing yourself from time to time. As for specific workouts and diet needs just do a search and you will get TONS of advice. Good luck kid...EAT SOMETHING.

Wait a minute.......your not a girl are you? I was assuming since you WANTED to gain weight and broaden up you were a guy...cant assume anything.

The only way your mass and weight will go down if you stop taking in protein SHAKES is if your not getting enough protein in your diet. You need a certain amount of protein to maintain/build muscle depending on your size. Whey protein harmful? Only side effects I ve heard of are certain proteins contain lactose which causes problems for SOME people, and some people get "the runs" if they take too much protein. Other than that NO harmful side effects that Im aware of. Someone else may know of others.

5'7 AND SO LANKY, STARVIN MARVIN, EAT 6 OR 7 X A DAY WITH AT LEAST 20-30g OF PROTEIN ON EACH MEAL, IF YOU WANNA GET TALL, DRINK MILK.
JUST GO THROUGH THIS FORUM CUZ THERES MORE TO IT.

hold on i didnt think that drinking milk would make you grow i thought it just made your bones strongr??eat a lot of good foods, and lift heavy, and with good form. get lots of rest. then eat some more... here's some guidelines:
Good foods
protein: chicken breasts, tuna, cottage cheese, eggs and egg whites, lean cuts of beef

carbs: oats, whole wheat bread, yams, veggies, fruits, brown rice, barley

fats: raw almonds and walnuts, flax, fish oil(from salmon and other fatty fish or from caps), oilve oil, natty pb

Here are some guidlines to follow...

-eat 6+ meals a day, eating a meal every 2-3 hours
-eat at least 1g of protein be pound of body weight
-to get an estimate of how many calories you are going to need to eat to gain weight take your body werght X 20 (approximate)
-avoid processed food 80% of bodybuilding / powerlifting is diet and recovery - Only 20% of it is what you do in the gym. Get the diet and rest right and you will go far
But first i would lift light weights to get the form right. then when its a done deal! Pack on some serious weight for low reps. Should be a help.

here are some home made weight gainers i make:

put these in a blender and blend it:
2 cups milk
1 or 2 scoops chocolate whey
2 tbsp. of natty pb
1.5 cups oats
1 banana

you could just experiment with stuff like that

You could also try:

Yogurt
Cottage Cheese
Milk
Whey Protein
Honey

Just add the amounts to your taste or required levels of Carb/Protein/Fat and blend away
