Recently someone stated that nutritionists, physiologists and pro bodybuilders say protein powder is a waste of time and money when you can get all the protein you need from wholefoods.

I personally disagree due to my own experiences with using purely wholefood proteins whilst training as opposed to using both wholefood and protein powders in terms better recovery, growth, digestion pwo and convenience - over a period of 25 years

Can we get a list of scientific studies here which highlight the benefits?

Thx BBB

I am not going to do your research for you. I will say I have read countless peer-reviewed articles that show the benefit of protein supplementation. It should be noted that the pre-workout meal is more important than post, I have also read many studies that prove this as well. Do your research, google scholar is a good free outlet for you to use!

Its pretty simple: if you cant get your required protein amount from real food then supplement. However, if you cant meet your needs through real foods then I would be interested in seeing your diet.
