Quick Whey Shake Question -- Carbs

I've been taking whey shakes for a little while now, and I use either Prolab Prowhey, or lately ON Whey. I hear more and more people talking about throwing oats into their shakes, which im positive is a good idea, but I usually just take some frozen fruit (mixture of a few peach slices/strawberry/pineapple) and toss them in my shake.. I know this adds the carbs I need, but how much better is oats? Also, im not sure what kind of oats everyone is referring to... is it the same as buying plain oatmeal and just dumping a pack in? can I buy this stuff in bulk? :confused:

well i am no expert yet but since i had a conversation on her much like opne of the questions u are asking, yes they are talking oat meal. Get like a big canaster of the old fashioned quaker oatmeal.That is somethingi can help with :D
 
But is that way better than putting in a few pieces of forzen fruit? I know theres some natural sugar in the fruit but I'm sure it tastes way better than Oats n whey.

If the fruit is really sugary and high GI... you'd be better off using fruit in it right after lifting, and oats for times OTHER than PWO.
