Repair Ripped Bench Vinyl ?

Just picked up a gym bench today with one little rip in the vinyl covering.
Is there a standard method of repairing them without recovering the whole thing,
and besides the obvious choice of using duct tape?

Most automotive stores, and I believe Walmart carry a vinyl repair kit. The results might not be spectacular, but its better than duct tape.

its a pretty easy and inexpensive fix if the rip is small. if its for personal use though why worry bout it?

I'm only worried about it getting bigger, and want to catch it before that happens.

If you use duct tape the rip expands over time and a sticky part is exposed, and that annoys you forever.

It's not hard to remove it and staple a new one at all, it would be a good time to add extra padding.

That's an even better idea, but not sure I can duplicate the stitching.
It's got sides that are seperate material.

I figured itd just be a flat bench with the bit of padding.

not like, lazy boy gym equipment.

yeah just go to napa or whatever and get that kit
