Alright im confused...where can you go and buy protein shakes for post workouts? and where can you get shakes for pre work outs? and what are they called, and who makes them? Also what is a good supplement for a beginning weight lifter? Please help. I need some questions answered to get motivated! :(

Thanks Guys.

Protein shakes can be bought at any supp store either online or in a grocery store, or a plaza.

As for a good supp for a beginner. An excellent diet will be the first step, but after that a Multi-vitamin, and fish oil.

I would say the easiest thing to do is go into the nearest GNC and grab a jug of their protein powder. Then again I would hate for someone who didn't really know what was going on to walk into GNC and be talked into running up a $200 bill because the clerk wants to make a nice comission tricking you into odd supps.

I agree with IainDaniel about proper diet and some fish oil. Great start there.

Just look for 100% whey and avoid any powders that contain sugar (assuming you've cut it out of your diet elsewhere as well) and I personally try to avoid ready-to-drink shakes because of the fact they are usually based around soy protein (lots to debate there, about protein types) and cost too much.

good luck though

I get my suppliments from www.dpsnutrition.com or www.bulknutrition.com. Optimum Nutrition's 100% Whey is the best protein for the money.

As far as the difference between pre- and post-lifting shakes:
Pre-lifting shakes have whey protein, glutamine, complex carbs such as oatmeal or maltodextrin, and a source of good fat such as natural peanut butter.
Post-lifting shakes have the same whey protein and glutamine, but no fats or fiber. You need a source of clean simple sugars, like dextrose. You can buy that on the suppliment sites too.

"maltodextrin???s glycemic index should be considered metabolically equivalent to glucose (dextrose)."

Go to www.allthewhey.com to get all of your supplements, you're going to save a lot of money and get a great tasting quality product. Try the whey protein Isolate for your pre-and post workout shakes, and maybe a micellar casein for a slower digesting nightime shake. Use promotional code Rob05 and recieve an extra 5% discount instantly.

Alright, thanks guys.

Here are a couple thing si found in my search, and was wondering if you could steer me in the right direction. I know a lot of people here are biased about which is the best, i just need it to work damnit. lol :joke:

So for pre work out:
Smash Pre-Workout
http://www.bulknutrition.com/?products_id=2540

D&E Orange Rush Pre Workout Drink - 1 Lb
http://www.dpsnutrition.net/get_item_de059.htm

Instone Intesity Pre Workout - 192 Cap
http://www.dpsnutrition.net/get_item_in018.htm

Post work out:

Anabolic Xtreme PCT Post Cycle Therapy - 90 Cap
http://www.dpsnutrition.net/get_item_at011.htm

Eas Race Recovery Orange - 3.5 lbs
http://www.dpsnutrition.net/get_item_cb619.htm

and then another one by instone.......

What is your take on these?
and then for the supplement I went to GNC and saw there 100% whey protein which is in a huge keg like botttle, but was good on price.

Thanks.!

Don't waste your money. A good diet is all you need right now.

How old are you?

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones
Yeah focus on a healthy diet some Multi Vits, Fish oil. You will see the results you like. With out the diet in place, most supps are a waste anyway.
