Sopranos Actor Gets Whacked 'Again'; Stacker 2 Manufacturer Recoups $260K
ANDOVER, N.J., June 8 /PRNewswire/ -- NVE, Inc., the manufacturer of Stacker 2 Diet and Energy supplements as well as 6 HOUR POWER Extreme Energy Shots, announced that it has obtained a Final Judgment in the amount of $260,000 against Joseph Gannascoli, JEC Nutrition and H57 Hoodia.
Joe Gannascoli, a co-star in the HBO hit series The Sopranos, who played mobster Vito Spatafore, and JEC Nutrition - H57 Hoodia, got whacked for defaulting in U.S. Bankruptcy Court, District of New Jersey.
In August 2003, Gannascoli was contracted by NVE to endorse and promote the Stacker 2 product line through live appearances, national radio, television commercials and print ads. In court papers filed earlier this year, NVE attorney Kenneth Moskowitz wrote that the company paid Gannascoli $316,872. In the adversary Complaint filed NVE charged that Gannascoli not only disregarded the contract duties and responsibilities he owed to NVE but that he abruptly and in bad faith terminated his participation in the agreement in order to join forces with NVE's competitor.
The Long Island-based actor's role in the HBO hit series The Sopranos ended in 2006 when his character in the series was whacked in a fatal pool cue-stick beating.
The default judgment issued by Judge Novalyn Winfield holds Joe Gannascoli, JEC Nutrition and H57 Hoodia jointly and severally responsible for the amount of $260,000. In addition, Judge Winfield threw out all counterclaims against NVE filed by Gannascoli and others.
NVE, Inc. is the manufacturer of Dietary supplements and 6 HOUR POWER Energy Shots. The company is located at 15 Whitehall Road, Andover, New Jersey 07821. For additional information concerning NVE, its products or this matter, please contact Erling Jensen at (973) 786-7862 ext. 204.
