Has anyone used the time released protein out now?
Just wondering what everyones thoughts are on it.

From what the ad says, whey protein only lasts for about 2 hours before its all used up for energy, whereas the time released stuff lasts for 8 hours.

.

It???s probably Caseinate which it is not new and is digested much slower the whey.

Yeah, food is good stuff.

Here's a very good quote from one of IronMagazine's Articles about the "night time" protein.

<<Note: The so-called Nighttime proteins are nothing more than casein. You can achieve the same thing with milk, calcium casseinate...even the addition of fat and fiber to a ???fast burning??? anabolic protein such as whey, will make it digest slower and become anti-catabolic. The science behind ???nighttime??? proteins is based upon the amino L-leucine which stays in your system for 7 hours as opposed to 3-4 hours with the other aminos>>

Myself, if I have just whey protein on hand I'll add 2 tbsp. heavy whipping cream OR take 1 tbsp. of flax seed oil. If I don't have either one in the fridge (hopefully that doesn't happen) then I'll add maybe 4oz. of 1% milk to the shake. Then there's the low fat cottage cheese if I don't want a shake before bed.
