Triflex or Caltrate type suppliments, are they worth taking at 39 years of age?

Well lately I am running into bone pains and stress pain on my elbow/wrist joints so was wondering what I can take to offset these pains. They arent quite crippling but they can be painful sometimes to seriously limit the weight I can push or pull with that arm etc.

Is it worth taking a cartiledge and a calcium suppliment to try and offset and nip in the but any joint and bone issues that I may be experiencing as I approach my 40th birthday. The areas that are really hurting right now are my wrists (when i flat press big weight) or my elbows (when i preacher or stand up curl with a flat olympic bar for biceps.)

Any help would be appreciated, I am getting a suspicious feeling that my time lifting heavy weights is nearing an end.

Thanks in advance for any advice,
scotty
