def. Jason Dent: $8,000

Now, the usual disclaimer: The figures do not include deductions for items such as insurance, licenses and taxes. Additionally, the figures do not include money paid by sponsors, which can oftentimes be a substantial portion of a fighter's income. They also do not include any other "locker room" or special bonuses the UFC oftentimes pays.

For example, as discussed above, the figures above do not include the UFC's traditional "fight night" bonuses. The UFC 106 bonuses were worth $70,000. The organization awarded $70,000 to Nogueira (Knockout of the Night) and Johnson (Fight of the Night), and $140,000 to dual-award winner Koscheck (Submission of the Night and Fight of the night).

The figures also do not include the show and win money the UFC paid to Dustin Hazelett, who was forced off the card when opponent Karo Parisyan pulled out of the event on the eve of the show. Hazelett made $28,000 ($14,000 to show and a $14,00 win bonus) at UFC 91, his most recent appearance.

In other words, the above salary figures are simply base salaries reported to the commission and do not reflect entire compensation packages for the event.

SUSPENSIONS
by Dann Stupp on Nov 23, 2009 at 5:05 pm ET

The Nevada State Athletic Commission issued medical suspensions to 10 competitors from this past weekend's UFC 106 card, and Forrest Griffin, Luiz Cane, Marcus Davis and Jason Dent could all be out of action for up to six months for everything from broken noses to a foot injury.

MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com) recently requested and today received the full list of suspensions from the NSAC.

UFC 106 took place Nov. 21 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center in Las Vegas and aired on Spike TV and then pay-per-view.

Griffin, who edged Tito Ortiz via split decision in the night's headliner, could be out until Mat 21 due to a possible right foot injury. However, if X-rayed and cleared by a doctor, Griffin can return early from the suspension.

The same goes for Cane (possible right orbital fracture) and Davis and Dent (broken noses). However, all the above fighters except Dent were issued mandatory medical suspensions of two months or less.

The full list of suspensions includes:
  • Forrest Griffin: Suspended until May 21 due to a right foot injury but can be cleared early by a doctor; regardless, minimum suspension until Dec. 22 with no contact during training until Dec. 13
  • Anthony Johnson: Suspended until Dec. 22 with no contact until Dec. 13 for precautionary reasons
