Jesus christ, fan boys have been asking and pleading for a movie about the hot tempered, supposed to be short, animalistic hero for quite some time now and what do we get? A complete fucking mess.

Though its not terrible...

First off, Sabretooth is not Wolvie's brother. This doesnt hinder the movie's story, however. Plus, Liev or whatever his name plays a good Sabretooth.

Secondly, the team Wolvie works with end up being throw away characters. This also includes others such as Gambit, the long awaited addition to the Xmen world. No big parts here..

Ive read critics talk about the dialogue and I agree. Its basic fucking english.

The side effects are pretty lousy (the chopping of the fire escape stair case is ridiculous).

And umm...well I dont think I am giving away anything here considering this happens often in the movie, but before Wolvie gets his metal, hes pretty indestructible. Dont really see the difference other than his harder bones. So this makes the firing squad scene not make any sense...

All in all, its just an OK movie. Why it gets so much shit is cuz of the fact that Wolvie's story was fucked with when it shouldnt had been. Hes got a pretty solid storyline, just run with it.

Oh and I just realized where Stryker is from.. He makes a good villain in this movie and I couldnt understand why...its cuz he was the head vampire in 30 days of night. One of the best villains in history IMO.

 I haven't seen it yet but my impression from the trailers was that it was just a collection of wolverine style scenes from the x-men movies. I will go to see it, tho.

I thought Sabertooth was Wolverines father?

it was a decent movie, but i agree they fucked his story up. in the movie he never really lost his memory, they were going to erase his memory, but then he jumped out before they did. so how does he lose his memory according to their story?? i don't i think they should have went with the original story.

the harder bones makes him even tougher to deal with. he packs a much harder punch and can now cut through anything. his bones wont break, so it is one thing that he doesnt have to worry about.

sabretooth is never confirmed as his father or brother in the comics. it was always intended to be a father son deal, but the origins line changed it to brother.

he lost his memory from the bullets. stryker and that assistant had a brief discussion about the bullets, she said it wont kill him, his brain will heal, he said his brain will heal, but the memories wont come back. its a cheap easy fix.

the movie was good for an action movie, but is little more than that. they did change a lot of stuff, unnecessarily so (deadpool has every power?). it will not hold up to the last few superhero movies, but it was entertaining.

I found it slightly less than Ok. I went in knowing it was a crappy Marvel movie but a good action movie, but it wasn't even that. There were far too many unnessisary scenes (the old farmer people? Their only relevance was to give him a jacket, we didn't need a reason for him to have a wolvie jacket other than it looks cool).

The special effects were aweful. And while I can kind of justify the cheesiness due to it being comic book style, I think the big screen took some onliners and explosions too far (the exploding helicopter looked horrible and was made even worse by the slow motion walk away without even budging/looking back). And the actual scene where they're giving him the adamantium skeleton, the dialog was horrible. It's not the 80's anymore, you can't get away with faceless lab assistants saying crap like "Activating phase 3!" "Blood pressure failing!"

also, don't screw with Wolvie's history. It's bad enough someone thought it was Ok to kill off characters that shouldn't die in Xmen3, but you can't just make up a character's entire origin or give them powers they don't have. There's no excuse for a Wolverine movie that has nothing to do with the character, he just happens to be in it.

I will not watch it. Friends asked me to go last night, and I outright refused on principle.

This thread makes me think I made the right decision.

Really? I thought it was a good, action movie.
I watched a haji copy, so missed out on some of the special effects...

The jacket scene? It shows where he picked up his jacket...as he always had it in all the movies, as I recall. Same with the motorcycle. As memory serves, you see it in the back of the trailer in the 1st movie when he's giving Rogue a ride.
I don't follow the comic book, so I can't say about the story line, but for watching the X-Men movies, I thought this was a good action movie.
Like I said, I don't know the relationship of Wolverine and Sabertooth, so the one they presented in the movie worked for me.

He got a motorcycle from cyclops in Xmen. He took his for a joy ride.

Sabre/Wolvie's relationship was always a mystery so I thought it was ok. The only workable twist really. In fact, I loved the beginning credit shit.

But the rest, once again, looked rushed. Spidey 3 was rushed and it sucked. Hell, Ill go out on a limb and say I enjoyed Spidey 3 more than this.

Despite what was already mentioned, heres my biggest bitch..

SPOILER ALERT!!!!

Why not make Sabretooth the main bad guy? They were trying too and doing a great job. Then they make him a partner? Umm, he killed the little guy and the teleporter...does anyone care? Stop throwing in twists and just keep it simple. The script is cliched anyway, so why not have the remaining team all fight Sabre and die one by one? Couldve given Ryan Reynolds more screen time and Gambit couldve shined more than the poor french cajun did.

Oh and KILL Wolvie's girlfriend. Dont bring her back to life, just to kill her off again.

Jesus, the more I analyze this the more it seems like it was written by a teenager.

haven't see it , but i thought it worth to see it .Waiting for it

Oh wait, there was a bike in his trailer. Youre right. Still, its not important. It couldve been there next to a Sea Doo and my complaints would remain the same.

Lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I thought Sabertooth was Wolverines father?

How cud you even think of such a silly relation...

Sabretooth has always been fighting with Wolverine.
Moreover, quite obviously they both look of the same age.

So no way Sabretooth is his father in any manner...sabretooth belongs to the other group who defy x-men.

CONTINUED SPOILER

I agree. I was with the movie up until we realize that sabretooth isn't the badguy. I kind of accepted that each member of the old team were going to face Sabretooth and lose until Wolvie meets him at the end. This would have made an Ok ride as a viewer.

It's funny, it's definitly a movie the more I talk about the more I can't stand it

It's not a bad movie. I personally think I could have made it better...but, anyway.
I've been reading Wolverine comics for about oh, 20 years or so now, so the needless changes kinda irritated me, however, overall... it's worth seeing. Especially if your a fan of the character.
The old couple (I assume) are supposed to James & Heather Hudson. In the book, they found Wolverine naked and crazy in the wilderness after he escaped from the Weapon X facility and helped him 'regain' his humanity. However, they were not old, and they were not promptly killed. In fact, they became Guardian and Vindicator and worked alongside Wolverine for Department H and the Canadian government. Wolverine was an agent of Dep. H when Xavier originally recruited him for the X-men.

Sabertooth actually is Wolverine's brother. not only are they half brothers, as revealed by the Origin miniseries, it has been recently revealed that they are both part of the 'lupine' evolutionary scale. To be honest I can't even really coherently describe that. The short version is that mankind evolved from apes and canines... and then it gets really weird. Anyway, I'm just rambling now. The movie is decent, it's by no means great. It's hardly consistent with the history of the character, but if you don't know the history, you'll probably dig it. My buddy has never read an x-men or wolverine book in his life and he loved it. I 'enjoyed' it, and I'll buy it on dvd...

I know how you feel, when I saw Hannibal after having read the book it made me miserable to know they left out some of the best parts. Then i watched it again a few years after and saw it in a different light. I guess when you pay money to see it you want it to be up to your own expectations......

They should have a movie where fans vote on scenes to add and shit like that, if people feel they had a chance to make it better it would be a huge hit..... Maybe I'll make a New Spawn movie and have a Vote System to help layout the Screen Play....

I felt the same way about Hannibal... I haven't tried re watching it though. maybe I'll give it a shot.

Shit, I'm in.
I would friggin love to see a good Spawn movie.
It always disgusted me how the HBO cartoon was actually better that the film.

haven't seen it yet either.. i'll prob wait for the dvd.

Was planning on seeing this one in theatres but decided to wait for the home release after reading this thread.

Regarding the comment that the movie felt rushed, I kind of got the impression that may be the case after watching the trailor and thinking "how are they going to fit all that in one movie?"

The only X-Men movie I really enjoyed was the second one. How would you guys rank the X-Men films including this one?

However, can't wait for Terminator Salvation.

It was a very enjoyable action movie.

You'll only find problems with it if you're crazy about the comics or something.

Worth the $10 i spent to see it.
