Hey All,
If you are thinking you have low T or want to get on a Dr prescribed regimen, I believe you need to educate yourself before you make that appointment. During my first visit I had done a fair amount of research and relayed that info to my Dr in a non-defensive type manner (this is key). I have developed almost a relationship (not gay) with him, so that we can discuss things such as hormones on a level playing field. Not saying I am an expert (I am not) but just having some knowleadge of what does what has proved to be very powerful. A lot of this knowleadge was gained on this site. I would like to thank all of you for your help, and I mean that.
I think I surprised my Dr by knowing certain things and he did not just say here you go take this and check back. I made him think as well, and I also explained to him why I thought being at 4 or 500 total test was not good for me. He asked me where I wanted to be at and I explained that I thought being around a 1000 in total T was still healthy IMO and then I asked him what he thought and he agreed but did not want me over 1,100...
I think you can see where I am going with this. Sometimes opening a dialog and then going from there is all it takes. Sometimes they need to be helped along the way as well which is why I had several pages printed out for him on what I wanted to do and be at. Those pages were from guess where? Yep, right here!!!!
My Dr is not a GP but a UR so that might make a bit of a differance but communicating and asking questions is key, along with being armed with legit facts.....
