Ooo, someone else who actually knows who he is? Good stuff. Yeah, it's unfortunate. His career, and his life for that matter, were short. Amazing albums though. A serene voice and beautiful melodies.

This is one of his more famous songs:

I like this song, but it's only a sample of his greatness. Check out "Way to Blue" and "Fruit Tree" as well if you like that kind of music.
I remember hearing him on my Dream with the Fishes soundtrack, but I could never find his albums back in 1997 so I quit looking, I need to search around now that I have internet capabilities!

Rage Against the Machine's first album was awesome. "Freedom" is one of all time favorite songs, first song I was ever able to play in entirety on guitar.

Good call on The Doors album and The Deftones album. I love the earlier Deftones stuff.

oh yeah! Pink Moon is awesome. It is not on five leaves left though. Someone was telling me that it was used in a commercial maybe like a year or so ago.

Yea, tragic life. Super manic depressive. they still don't know if it was suicide or accidental death. I guess the investigators suspect suicide but the family maintains it was accidental. terrible.

The V-dub commercial spurred more interest in his music...

I have a feeling it was suicide based on what I've heard about his life being an emotional rollercoaster. Could be wrong, but it seems more likely.

yea, I agree as well. They said that he was really into classical music. Particularly Bach's Goldberg Varations. Another amazing album!

Van Morrison - Astral Weeks

my favorite this week...

Muscle Gelz Transdermals
IronMag Labs Prohormones

But his mother says that he got up in the middle of the night and ate a bowl of cornflakes.... It seems weird that a person would get up to eat a bowl of cereal while he contemplated suicide:hmmm:

I have had times when I'd take a sleeping pill and then get up in the middle of the night and find myself in a trance like dream reality walking around my house, and one of the times I caught myself with a pill bottle in my hand luckily it was just lomitil for the runs. From then on I would keep my dangerous pills in the home office where I'd have to make noise taking down the dog gate to get to them and end up waking my gf who I'd hope would ask me what I was doing and stop me, but I don't know if she would have since I have life insurance?????

I really dislike bands like Tool, A Perfect Circle, Alice in Chain etc.... there is just something about the vocals that is really shallow and uninsteresting. Every song sounds the same. Am I the only one who thinks this?

anyways some of my favourite albums are

Rammstein - Herzeleid
Pink Floyd - The Final Cut, The Wall, Dark Side, Animals
Bob Marley - Legend
ACDC - Back in Black
Simon & Garfunkel - The Essential
Rage Against the Machine - The Battle of Los Angeles
Pixies - Doolittle

I don't know, when I first listened to Jimi Hendrix I connected with the sound right away. Other bands I have to listen to alot before I get into them and start liking them.... but Alince in Chains, A Perfect Circle, Tool.... the vocals in that music just don't do shit for me.

Do you speak German?

I thought blueprint 2 was actually one of his best.

Really? I thought the production on this one was on point and I can play the whole CD through easily without skipping a song. If only he was lyrically as good on this one as he was on Reasonable Doubt. I only have one of the CD's to Blueprint 2: Gift and the Curse.

I know it has already been said, but RATM's self titled album was fucking awesome.

Metallica - Master of Puppets/....and Justice for All
Iron Maiden - Piece of Mind/666 Number of the Beast
Slayer - Reign in Blood
Johnny Cash - At Folsom Prison/ Greatest Hits
The Misfits - Static Age
