Ie 7

I only use IE to access the intranet. I can't stand using it for the web though.

Any new cool security features?

But when your IE gets owned, your OS still gets owned too.

I work in IT.

Maybe your users are visiting too many porn sites.

I don't work for a particular company, I work for a large number of clients (on behalf of my company). Some of the people are so incredibly stupid the only way I could truly protect their computers would be to cut their hands off.

Heh, it'd be like Muslim tech support. :)

M*crosoft warns of 8 "critical" security flaws

M*crosoft Corp. (Nasdaq:MSFT - news) on Tuesday warned of eight "critical" security flaws in its Windows operating system and Office software that could allow attackers to take control of a computer.

M*crosoft, whose Windows operating system runs on 90 percent of the world's computers, issued patches to fix the problems as part of its monthly security bulletin. It was the biggest such update since February 2005.

The company issued a total of 12 patches that address 21 security holes and cover problems in its Windows, Internet Explorer, Word, Powerpoint and Exchange Server products, security experts said.

"The significance of this large number of patches lies in the fact that 19 of them are remote code executions," said Amol Sarwate, manager of the Vulnerability Research Lab at Qualys.

The world's biggest software maker defines a flaw as "critical" when the vulnerability could allow a damaging Internet worm to replicate without the user doing anything to the machine.

Six of the critical flaws related to Windows and two affected Office. M*crosoft also issued another two security warnings it rated at its second-highest level of "important" for Windows, as well as one it gave a severity rating of "moderate."

It also warned of an "important" flaw in its M*crosoft Exchange software that allows users to send and receive e-mail along with other forms of communication through computer networks.

The company has been working for more than three years to improve the security and reliability of its software as more and more malicious software targets weaknesses in Windows and other M*crosoft software.

The latest patches, which are free to M*crosoft software owners, can be downloaded at www.m*crosoft.com/security.

Opera=best browser out there apart form the apple mac browsers

firefox is just better known but still very good in its own right

the most widely used programs will always be a hackers target, Outlook, IE, Windows, etc. they want to hit the biggest audience with their shit.

that paired with the anti-microsoft sentiment screws them

I just updated my computer at home during lunch. As soon as it finished and rebooted, My Zone alarm firewall flashed up and said internet explorer was trying to monitor keystokes and record.
I HATE THAT CRAP. I checked the box to always deny it. Big brother at its best. I wonder what else I will find tonight??

it took some getting used to, but I only use Mozilla Firefox now.

I have never took the time to download it since I have never seen it or work with it. Think I may give it a try. How long will it take to get use to it?

Not long, it's almost the exact same.
The basic browser supports all the same functions and is easier to navigate.

Just make sure when you download it, you go into

Tools>options. Click always ask where to download files, or else it auto-downloads everything to the desktop.

depends on how much you surf the web! :)

download it: http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/firefox/

it's not that much different really, just little things, I really like the "tabs" in FF, I think IE 7 has those as well.

Lol, when i first started using it, I didn't know about tabs.

So I would go to close the window, and it would tell me I was about to Close 2 tabs and if that was alright.
I was like WTF IS A TAB?!
