here is a better question:

if you had the choice of being poor, middle class or rich which one would you choose and why?

:)
I think the factor there is time, if you are poor you will have to spend more time trying to survive than if you are rich, then you'll have all the time in the world to do things that make you happy and not have to waste time at work just to make ends meet....

I've been the first, am currently the second, and is working on the third. I'll let you know which is better in two years or so.

But, I'd have to pick "rich". I doubt that it's worse that the lower two.

Being rich in America... I really don't think life could get any better.

Being Rich in Canada. That would top the list :p

Rich in Canada would be nice, but only because of the diffeence in our economy, being rich in the US would be better.

I want to be United States rich, but I would come live in Canada for a while. I would go look up Lanny Barbie and do some private movies, or yeah. Being rich would be the shit.

Your economy is in the shitter.

The canadian dollar is almost at par :p

Our economy is doing just fine, and our per capita income was number 7 from the top at $39,000. Canada was like 19 with $29,000.

They are the same country really anyway ... :roflmao:. We go to war you go with us. Our economy crashes yours does too. We get nuked you fry right along with us. The pictures on the money may look different, the political parties may speak with different accents ... pfffft. Same country.

Our economy isn't that great. But it's not a big deal. At some point, we'll have a recession, every, even the government will cut back, at the quality of the economy will rise.

This has happened before and will happen again. It's part and parcel of capitalism.

if it was dirty money would you still feel good about it? like take Scarface the movie (go figure eh?) would you be happy in a life like that? more money then he knew what to do with but he didn't seem too happy, and the method of getting that money...what do you think given those circumstances?

It depends are how it was dirty. But, at the end of the day, it all spends the same.

Voted it can. When I retire, I want to retire with enough cash to travel/live wherever I want. On the right track so far :thumb:

Thats how I see it. What if my heart yearns to see other worldly places? If I have plenty of money, and more importantly money invested into systems that produce dividends, then I can go see whatever country I want to. Money is freedom.

very true

I prefer more free time and doing stuff I like. I made more money last year but hated my job, I make close to the same now and work half as much. The stuff I do (Fishing, tennis, workout, hike, camp, etc.) doesn't cost that much money and if I were working 60hrs a week I would shoot myself. 25 hrs a week is plenty, I would do 40 if I were making money for myself and not "The Man", which is what I am doing, but I worked my ass off all summer for the man last year with no free time and that sucked. Although, I may work 30hrs a week. :)

Money doesn't factor into my happiness, as long as I have enough to survive all is well, in fact before I met my GF I had been a starving artist type for a while. I'm as happy now with money as I was back then with barely enough money....Of course all I need to be happy is a pen and paper, books to read and a nice place to sit and read and write.....

But if you had none at all you could have been like that except with nothing.
And you wouldn't be in such a nice place (hawiia). You might still be in some forsaken state out in the shitty half assed wooded area. Not having fun.

like michigan

like michigan

Right and I didn't mean some cool place, like up in the moutains of Colorado.

I meant some shitty swampy, pest infested area.
So just think. Even "no cost" activities are not free.

Apparently if you are Paris Hilton you can buy freedom. Still not sure about happieness though.

it doesn't buy happiness. Just presents more oopurtunities to be happy.

and attracts more girls with large bresses.

"Money doesn't make you happy. I now have $50 million but I was just as happy when I had $48 million."

It bought me a few lap dances which made me happy for a few minutes.

I found out tonight that lap dances are way cooler when a girl you thought was hot in high school is giving it to you.
