Xbox 360 Blu-ray together?

I was going to buy one but I figured let me wait since HD DVD died...I may have thought right.

About 48 milliseconds after the format war was officially over, rumors started running rampant (again) about Blu-ray making its way over to Microsoft's latest console. Now, however, those rumors actually have some legs -- well, at least a leg. According to Stan Glasgow, Sony Electronics US president, "Sony is in talks with console rival Microsoft about offering a Blu-ray drive for the Xbox 360." For whatever it's worth, the exec also noted that it was having similar discussions with Apple, which has yet to even offer a Blu-ray option on any of its machines. Unfortunately, not a peep was uttered about potential launch dates and the like, but you can rest assured that we'll be keeping an ear dangerously close to the ground

We have most of them except for PS3 and the XBox.
The Xbox is staying in the livingroom for the adults.

I had the original xbox but I had it modded so I could use burned games. But I am not much of gamer. I just like the sports games. The wii is something different, and something fun to do with everyone, even my little guys have fun with it. Shit my 4 year old bowled a 150 yesterday LOL

Interesting. Xbox really blew it by not making the HDDVD drive available with the console. Also, its not clear whether or not these drives will play games on the xbox or just movies like the HDDVD add-on did. If MS is smart they will play games on since they will soon have a lot of problems matching the HD games that PS3 are starting to release.

I have a 360, WII, and PS2, and will prob just get a PS3 with my wonderful stimulus check the gov will be sending out this summer. It's still the best route to go to get a Blueray payer, imo.

I think they made a separate HD driver that attached to the console via a cable, I'm not so sure.

The HDDVD drives for the 360 were connected via USB to the console but they only played Movies. Thats why I'm curious as to what they will do with the Blue-Ray. If its just a player and they release at the cheap price like they did with the HDDVD player than it will be cool but not on par with what the PS3 can offer from a gaming standpoint. If they can game off of the drive then it will be really cool.

I see, HD DVD would have probably survived a little longer if games were produced in a HD DVD format.

Yea blu ray sucks. It has been said that something wrong happened to its production making its mamory storage lower than intended.

Besides that for all the people who have an xbox 360 here, will you be getting rainbow six vegas 2? I saw gears of war and even after around two years of being on the market it STILL has the best graphics i have ever seen making me smile for like an hour. Will rainbow six vegas 2 be great in terms of graphics compared to gears of war and the original rainbow six vegas?
