So yea, I got the product in the mail yesterday before I left and am just now opening it up and taking a look at it.

Looks pretty cool, even though I probably would have my doubts about buying something like this if it were my own money. With that said, thats probably one of the reasons I'm good for this because until I'm proven wrong, I'll be avoiding these types of supps like the plague.

I'm not sure in what doses they'd like me to take the product, but I know for a fact having to take it in three separate doses would be bad for me. For instance, last week on Tuesday I woke up at 7AM and then didn't wake up on Thursday until like 1PM. While I'll have a lot of order this week with work every morning at 9AM, when I get back to school in a week I'll be back on my normal schedule which is pretty much all over the place.

Any recommendations on this? SB? nni?

Training will be the same as it's been in my journal. Westside style training with a 2 on, 1 off format (while I'm using this product). Shoulder is still a little iffy at this point, but I don't think it'll bother me too much (it didn't last week).

As far as supplements go, I don't really consider myself a big supplement guy. I'll take some sort of pre-workout energy/focus enhancer, right now being NO-Xplode, but nothing really else besides whey protein and a multi-vitamin.

Diet will be the same as usual which from what I can gather will be excellent for this type of supplement. Protein intake is high, hell the intake of everything is high. I pretty much always get 1 gram of protein per pound of bodyweight, a lot of good healthy carbs (sweet potatoes, multigrain pasta, etc.) and a lot of good healthy fats (natural peanut butter, etc.).

I'm not sure what I weigh right now because I haven't weighed myself in quite some time (will do, tomorrow) but I can't imagine I've gotten any heavier than 150 since I switched gyms.

I'm psyched to get started. Hopefully they'll help me out with the dosage question and all will be set for tomorrows workout. Might do some cardio tonight if a game gets boring on TV today...

Well, been without internet for all of Saturday and Sunday, just now here with the stupid bastard fixing it.

I've been taking 2 caps twice daily, but again, I'd like to hear some recommendations on this. I want to be on this stuff for as little time as possible (4 weeks?) so getting this squared up ASAP would be nice.

First workout yesterday was great. I'll have a full write-up tonight when I'm done with work/working out.

i dont know dosing, just the formula, check the label, i got a bottle today and saw an insert, didnt read anything thoroghly though, it did say 1 pills 2-3 times a day i believe. i would take three, around each major meal, or just morning noon and night.

It says to take 2 capsules, 2-3 times per day. I've been taking 2 in the morning and 2 at night, but took an extra dosage tonight with my work schedule keeping me on track.

Thanks.

Saturday, 3.8.08

Drove back from school friday afternoon after back-to-back (Thurs, Fri) workouts, and on Saturday had an off day from the gym.

I felt like a bum all day so I ended up running a mile (according to MapQuest) in what I thought was like 6-7 minutes, which is what I'm wanting to improve on.

Dosage = 2 capsules

Didn't take any Friday and wanted to give it a go for Sunday's workout, so I took the first dosage after dinner on Saturday night.

Sunday, 3.9.08

DE Bench - had an excellent workout, definitely more of a mind pump than anything else. More so than I usually am (which is hard to believe), but I really didn't want to leave the gym. I had a limitless amount of energy and not the kind of energy you get from an NO-Xplode dosing. Used chains for old times sake, tried out floor presses, felt even less pain (still some though) in my shoulder, and did a whole nice shoulder routine that I looked up beforehand. Just took some light cable/bw/kettlebell exercises and made a little circuit out if it. Fun times.

Dosage = 2 when I woke up, 2 before I went to bed.

I suppose I feel more thirsty than usual, but I think I'm more so saying that because I've read it before. I'm always thirsty so who knows. Again, the mind pump I had was brilliant. I had to force myself out of the gym.

ME Squat/Deadlift:
  • Squats were excellent - Hit 315x2, 325x1, 335x1, and 345x1. Not a perfect rep on the final set so I went down after that. Still hit some heavy heavy numbers.
  • Rack Deadlifts - Hadn't done these in a while, but hit some incredible numbers nonetheless.. 315x5, 365x5, 405x5, 455x3, 500x3. I had five plates and a 2.5 on each side, things got messy.
  • Stayed light on shrugs, shoulder
  • Leg Extensions - Maxed out the machine... 200x10, 250x10, 300x8, 325x8
Dosage = 2 @ 9AM, 2@5PM, 2@1:30AM

Another great workout tonight. Focused, limitless energy, strong... all and all I'm enjoying it thus far.

Nice workout and good looking log:thumb:

i'm late to the party but along for the ride!

2 pills is a serving. 4 pills per dya gets you 30 days as there are 120 caps in the bottle.

Most effective dosing for me was 2 pills, 3 times per day. But, that can be expensive.

Better late than never! Tim's in the house!!! :D

Like Mace said on the dosing.... 6 caps each day may run a bit short. But I think it'd be fine to keep it at 4 - either go 2/2 or split it up 1/2/1 - with the 2 being pre-workout and the 1's being morning and evening. Spread it out evenly and you should be good to go.

Good luck with it, bro! Hope you like it. And if you need any help, just give us a shout.

I ran on Tuesday as it was a scheduled off day. Watching a basketball game does wonders for my running abilities. I couldn't leave until the second half was over and after my 1 mile run, walked on an incline for a good 20 minutes to a half. I need to keep this up...

Dosage: 2 caps

I tried to wake-up before work so I could workout and be able to go to the Blackhawks game without a worry, but with how little sleep I've gotten this week, I slept through my alarm. All was well as I was able to get out of work a couple hours early. The workout sucked, my shoulder is still really bothering me.. I shouldn't even say it's really bothering me, because it isn't. It doesn't really hinder me at all except when I'm trying to go heavy on ME Bench days which yesterday happened to be. As soon as I starting getting into heavy territory, I stopped, because my shoulder was in pain. Interestingly enough, I was still able to hit 225 for a single. Other than that, I basically stopped. Did a few more things here and there but wasn't going to be able to do heavy militaries, dips, etc. that I'm accustomed to so I just decided to go back to the locker room and do 100 push-ups and call it a day. Hawks game was fun, minus the fact that they aren't a very good hockey team.

Dosage: 2 caps

It's funny - I feel if I wasn't using this supplement right now, I would have been a grumpy piece of shit yesterday for having such a terrible workout. Not only that, but if you had asked me a week ago to skip a chest day, I probably would have justified it to myself by going light, but right now I'm completely content taking Saturday off from the gym completely and getting another 2 days of rest in a row. Naturally, we'll see if I can hold firm to that (probably not) but my shoulder has felt amazing after I've sat in the hot tub and not only am I going to be doing that tonight, tomorrow, and saturday but I iced it all day today as well. Really enjoying this stuff..

DE Squat day tonight..

Workout = DE Squat/Deadlift

Had an awesome workout, despite my shoulder pain refusing to go away. Did 20 rep sets on the leg press that kicked my ass, and was able to muster some pretty good numbers supersetting a high row, mid row and low row.

Dosage = 2 caps

I wanted to workout both Saturday and Sunday but my shoulder hasn't allowed me to do so. I planned on working out today and I want to, but again my shoulder is hurting me. I'm going to go to my classes today and see if I can workout again tonight, but this is really starting to piss me off.

Took 2 caps on Friday, no caps on Saturday, and no caps yesterday.

Just took 2 more this morning.

Edit: On Tuesday and Wednesday, I meant 2 servings and not just 2 caps.

Sorry for the confusion, you don't understand how aggravating this is.

I'd rather be deathly ill and unable to move than have this nagging shoulder injury that prohibits you from doing nothing but lifting weights.

sox,

I understand from your previous post that your shoulder only becomes a problem during heavy bench.

I'm not following you on why you cancell entires days of lifting due to this, what i refer to : Highly over rated movement.

I can deal with the pain when I'm doing light pushing movements. It's when I go heavy that I can no longer tolerate it.

I want to lift heavy because I enjoy lifting heavy. I cancel entire workouts because I want it to heal properly.

Basically, I want to be able to have the same workouts I was having no more than two weeks ago, but I didn't feel I could unless I took some time off.

sox,

Yes, I understand you want to heal. Who knows how long that will take? I like to lift heavy too. Perhaps you can do weighted dips?

I don't think improvising a bit would hinder the healing of your shoulder. In fact, movement, if done properly, can lead to speedy recovery of a joint. Someone who specializes in this area can say for sure.

I think we have all grown a fondness to the almighty heavy bench. After all, that is the first question out of everyones mouth when they see a lifter.

I'm going to have to switch up my "push" days if it isn't healed completely for Thursdays workout.

Felt minimal pain last night, but waking up this morning I can certainly feel some soreness. Perhaps another day off?

Weights really weren't hurt by it though. Started over with most exercises including 135 with the cables instead of 140 (which I'll be at next time) as was planned. Crammed in some incline press and 50's were done with ease. Ground Base Jumper machine is great.

Dosage = 4 caps, 2 am/2 pm

It's hard to tell that my weights have gone up because of my injury, but I've been able to do some things the past week that I haven't previously done. Rack deadlifted 500 pounds last week, hit 225 pendlays with ease... Things are going well.

Has this stuff you're taking resulted in any weight (scale weight) gains or is it just for increased strength? How'd you like holding a quarter ton in your hands?

Sorry to hear about the shoulder distress. Mine bother me too when I over do it on the bench. To me, flat bench is a bit overrated. I've moved to doing it with dbs, or just doing inclines instead. Perhaps doing those might help you? But I would agree with you on rest. When I have an injury, I don't like to work anything too hard. Sometimes, you just have to bite the bullet and go for lighter weight/higher reps instead just to keep yourself in the game.

Good luck with the healing process. Hope all is going well with the MFX! :D

I weighed myself almost daily last week during Spring Break and I think I did notice some weight gain. For whatever reason, I usually end up under 150 after my workout, but with this stuff I was staying above that number.

As far as strength goes, unlike my changes in weight which could be the result of more/less water, I'm 100% certain it's helped me out some. I wish it could be helping me out on my bench, but I really couldn't tell you because I haven't been able to go that heavy. I will say, the week I first got the injury, I couldn't touch 225 for a single, and last week hit it with ease.

Straps or not, that's a hell of a lot of weight. It felt incredible.

:)

My scheduled bench day tomorrow involves quite a bit of dumbbell work, so I'm one step ahead of you in that regard. ;)

Nonetheless, I'm starting to realize that instead of getting all pissy and not being able to do the heavy stuff I want to do, I need to stay in the right frame of mind and just hit the light weights just as hard.

All is going well with the MFX, keep following.

ME Deadlift/Squat
The Workout (best sets):

Strapless deadlifts = 365x1, 405x1
Weighted chins = 135x.9, 115x3, 90x5
T-Bar rows = 4 plates x 5
Leg press = 360x5, 450x5, 500x3

The Dosage:

- 2 servings of MassFX (9am, 9pm)

Thoughts:

I have yet to unpack, so my straps were buried in my suitcase, so I figured I'd just save the hassle of putting all my shit away and just trying to set a PR deadlifting clean. My hands were being ripped apart, but I was still able to pull 365 and 405 for singles without straps which was excellent.

The leg press was incredible, going for 5 reps, is a lot different than going to 20 reps which I've done a couple times in the last month.

I wanted to try 225 (5 plates) on the T-bar row machine but opted not to. Once this shoulder goes away, which it seems like it is, I'll be setting some PR's without a doubt in my mind.

I was sooo close from getting my chin above the bar with three plates dangling between my legs.

All and all, a fun day. I took my dosages at nearly identical times which is exactly what I try to do from day to day which was a plus as well.

Running tonight, and then a tough ME Bench day tomorrow. Wish me luck.
