Anyone listen to Howard Stern on Thursday?

I listened. I'm not sure what's gonna happen, but it seemed pretty serious. I think Artie makes the show great, but I think they could find someone else to sit in and it would still be a good show.
No, but that was pretty funny. Artie and his assistant were arguing and then Artie got really pissed and tried to attack him. Long story short, Howard said he couldn't have Artie back unless he promised him he wasn't gonna attack someone again and Artie said he couldn't promise that and he resigned. We'll see what happens with the whole thing though.

According to the polls that were on HowardStern.com a few weeks back, Artie is the most popular member on the show. Obviously, the show can go on without him because Howard is as brilliant as they get, but it's foolish to think that someone else could just step right in and be as witty/entertaining as Artie Lange.

Weekdays @ 1AM on E! was my life from like 6th grade on.
HowardTV has weekly specials on MOJO (some channel on digital cable) that are incredible.
I can't even imagine seeing the unedited stuff that HowardTV offers. I should really start spending my money more wisely..
It's very convenient that they are going on vacation this week, but listening to the show on Thursday and listening to it again with the YT link you shared has me convinced that it's 100% real.
Howard saw an opportunity for great radio and used his genius to get it out/stir up the pot.
I love Howard but Artie was hardly in the wrong considering what led up to his outburst IMO.
i don't think howard did anything wrong. he's just saying he can't have people throwing things or punches. i think tempers will cool n things will be okay by the time the the vacation is over. not that i know a lot about his show just people. we can all have shitty days but most of us get over it.

Ya, but there are other comedians that could step in and be just as witty. The reason everyone likes Artie is because he's a total fuckup and he has a great story about everything. Lately I've been put off by Artie because he is starting to get a big head and thats what originally made me like him, the fact that he seemed like a normal guy and not a fake hollywood shithead.
I really don't think he'll be back, I think he's wanted out for a while so he focus on other things. The problem is, he thinks he could quit the show and still sell out huge venues but I don't think that will happen.
You bring up excellent points, but he wanted out last summer and never left IMO because he knows that the part in bold isn't true.

I don't think he thinks that. He has seen what happened to Jackie, when he was too big. He has a lot of demons, Drugs and Alcohol. I want him back I like him on the show.
Time will tell.

No way, not fake. Artie is tired of people taking advantage of him and his "assistant" does suck and has sucked repeatedly fucking up all kinds of shit.

To those who thinks he is unnapreciative to Howard and the show you are all nuts. I have an S50 so I record the show and I listen to almost 100% of the show, to those of you who might be missing parts there are plenty of times where maybe a brief 10 seconds of time he reitterates his appreciation and how much money he makes on the road because of his involvement with the show.
He has never denied that.
Again for those of you who think this was scripted you don't know the show.
I am surprised Artie didn't dump his ass after the first week, and then when he fucked shit up with Dana he really was pissed but he let it slide off his back STILL. Its been building folks.
He doesn't have a big head. That guy does so much shit for people that he doesn't have to - he is no saint but he is a good fucking guy and that is a big plus for his popularity NOT just that he is a great storyteller.
I'm with you, he says over and over WHY so many comedians wanted to be on the show - gig money! Fat advertising for free and big somewhat instant fanbase.
