Thats true. I dont see why they keep saying that shit. If its not a big deal, then why mention it? Maybe cuz it is. Therefore, is the reason he was elected.

Reminds me of mixes who select "African American" instead of white for college applications.

I am so sick of the whole "african american" thing anyway. Really. How come white people are just "white", but black people have to be "African American"? Do we call ourselves caucasian on a regular basis? In fact, from now on, I want white people to refer to themselves as caucasians in all discussions. If black people get offended by us calling them black, then maybe we should be offended by calling us white? but you know why we don't? Because we don't care to turn everything into a race issue. This is exactly the type of shit that furthers the divide between the races and why racism will never not exist.

sure it's a big deal that Obama is the first black president, and I will never pretend that is isn't, but in a racism free world, it should have the same significance as the first Jewish president would have, or the first Italian president would have had, etc.

Sure it is ridiculous that blacks just voted for Obama because he is black. But hopefully this is a step in the right direction. Minorities now more then ever can know if they apply themselves, they can achieve great things.

No one does more to keep racism alive in the US than blacks.

Is the spirit of the blacks idea of equality, you will all henceforth refer to me as an European-American. Just so long as you don't count the French as part of that "European" bit.
 
I am getting pretty annoyed by the whole "first black president" bullshit too. I didn't vote for a black man to be president. I voted a man who I believe to have a good heart and a change of direction for the nation.

Hopefully this black president bullshit will die down, and he can focus on just being our president.

Problem is, a lot of people DID vote for him for this very reason, which is why I personally am having a problem with it. These are the very people who probably would not even have voted at all if two white guys were running.

Most everyone who has something negative to say about Obama mostly revolves around his goal of a socialist-like United States.

As bad as it might be, the Republicans needed a time-out to basically think about what they've done. Maybe this loss will be a wakeup call that they need to shape the hell up and stop with all of this nonsense they've been doing.

When the free market has clean, efficient, cost-effective technologies, they will be adopted. Until then, enjoy the coal plant exhaust baby.

The Kyoto Protocol is worthless. It obvious that you know nothing about it.

Nuclear power is the cleanest energy there is. When someone, such as yourself, claims how bad it is, it again shows how little you know.
