Actor Jeff Goldblum died while filming a movie in New Zealand early this morning - July 1, 2009.

Preliminary reports from New Zealand Police officials indicate that the actor fell more than 60 feet to his death on the Kauri Cliffs while on-set. Specific details are not yet available.

The accident occured at aproximatly 4:30 a.m. (UTC/GMT +12). Additional details and information will be forthcoming.

New Zealand, in recent years has grown in populariaty as a backdrop for Hollywood producers because of it's scenic and rugged landscape.

Recent movies filmed in New Zealand include The Lord Of the Rings, King Kong, and The Chronicles Of Narnia.
 
I was watching a show that said something about Jeff Goldblum last night, can't remember what it was but they were giving a memorial. I think it was the Colbert Report, maybe they started it, but I brushed it off as nothing because they were pretty nonchalant about it.

"Meanwhile another web hoax triggered false reports that American actor Jeff Goldblum had also died in a tragic fall while filming a movie in New Zealand.

It was suggested that Harrison Ford, who was working with Goldblum on a movie called Morning Glory, may have also met an untimely demise.

Unfortunately, an Australian entertainment reporter Richard Wilkins relayed the news of Goldblum's supposed death on Channel Nine's Today show.

Australian media reported Jeff Goldblum's (left) death last night following internet rumours he had fallen off a cliff. It was also suggested that Harrison Ford had died

This caused a flurry of calls to New Zealand police forcing Inspector Kerry Watson to issue a statement: 'Police at Kerikeri are receiving phone calls regarding a person falling from a cliff at Kauri Cliff,' she said.

'There is no such incident and police have no information to provide'.

Despite this, the viral was picked up by Twitter and spread like wildfire. The internet rumour became so popular that actor Kevin Spacey felt obliged to check if it was true.

He wrote on his Twitter page: 'Jeff Goldblum is alive and well. I just spoke to his manager. Stop these stupid rumors.'"

I saw him on an episode, he couldn't solve a case so he went to see Breakfast At Tiffany's and figured out the whole case.....

Vincent D'o will always be my favorite CI detective, he does that borderline psychotic role so well......

Too many it seems are living through these celebrities, live your own lives. Fuck seize the day, seize the night as well...stay up for 2 days straight doing whatever you want to do......I have 3 days of no work this weekend, I'm going to get drunk, listen to music, write poetry, fuck my woman and eat a feast of flame seared flesh every night. I'm not going to worry about what some crooner or thespian or socialite is doing, especially not going to wonder what will become of their fortunes......

Vincent's performance on CI is one of the best characters you'll find on television. Honestly his character is partly what makes me so interested in my current field.

His health has supposedly taken a blow due to the show tho, which you can see in the latest episodes. He's gained a lot of weight, and fatigue is supposedly the reason we have so many CI spinoffs. Whatever, it introduced Goldblum as a character so I win either way.
