Michael Vick - 60 Minutes Interview

Vick is bad person...no respect from me. Anyone who tortures animals like he did depicts horrid character.

I have some friends who fight pitbulls, which brutal and wrong IMO...but what Vick did afterwards to the losing dogs is something serial killers exhibit when they were kids

Can't watch the vid from here.
Wouldn't if I could. I think he's a POS. he should have been banned from the NFL. People still look up to sports players as heroes. he sets a bad example.
So he can play ball. BFD. So can others who would be willing to step into his shoes and be the hero.
just my .02 worth.

agreed.

He understood the magnitude of what he did only when they closed the cell behind him? That was when he realized what he did was wrong? What a loser.

patrick

Yes he is a loser, yes i believe his only remorse is that he served time for it, but at the end of the day, the man served his time according to our court system. This is a massive failure of our justice system, but he has the right to work, and the higher ups in the NFL still see him as being profitable. You can't just accept capitalism when it is convenient to do so. But keep that fucker away from me.

Matthew Broderick went to prison in england for a dui that I thinked killed someone, but he went right back to work in Hollywood. If someone has a marketable skill, let him earn a living from it if he served his sentence for the crime. Heck, it's not like the rest of the NFL players are saints, I'm sure it harbors their share rapists, drug abusers, wife beaters, sociopaths etc. who just never got caught. I'd rather he earn a living and contribute in part to society than living off society for the rest of his life. Personally, I think he is a sick puppy and wouldn't him near me or my family.

The Eagles are going to be interesting to watch this season. :)

when they locked him up they should have cut off all contact with people and just gave him a pitbull puppy for his only companion/comfort. might have led to real remorse.

I don't think you can change a person like this, anyone capable of torturing animals til their death for enjoyment has a very sick mind who is capable of just about anything, and I really don't think they can be "rehabilitated". Although I don't think he will get involved in the dog fighting again just because of how much getting caught fucked up his life and career, but his only remorse is that he got caught.

Well, I think what he did was wrong but he didn't grow up knowing it was wrong and only when he was jailed for it he realised how serious a crime it was. Furthermore he stated that at one point he realised it was wrong but couldn't because of the people he was dealing with. I think he didn't want to admit it but was scared of some of those folk who were involved and felt threatened by them imo. He did seem genuinely sorry though.

I think it's fair enough him going back to the NFL, everyone deserves a second chance. He's done his time.

So he goes back into a game, catches a ball and runs around. With all the other teams out there, his team I will always root for losing. I dont think I am alone.

This is marketable?

Watch the television ratings when he plays, as disgusting as it is people will watch. Remember the saying there is no such thing as bad press.

He has a second chance, he can go flip burgers at mcdonald's. There are tons of jobs you can't get with a criminal record/felony.

If it was any other joe blow in the NFL there career would have been over with.

Before I posted, I was thinking about the fan coverage with Brock Lesnar in UFC compared to Vick. Everyone will tune in to see Brock overcome or crumble. But hes just one man. The cameras arent just on Vick. Theyre on the team. Not to mention Brock's antics after his fights also draw attention. Vick doesnt get immediate press conferences after each game as fast as Brock does.

May be an unfair comparison, but truthfully, Vick will just be another good player on any random team. Only this time, everyone knows hes a player that deserves to die.

No DUI charge (supposedly unable to explain why he swerved into the other lane) but he did end up killing two people, he payed a $175 fine and it was ruled accidental.

He never mentioned at one time feeling bad for the animals..

I'm gonna train one of my dogs to growl when I try to give him a treat from Michael Vick, just like the lady with the Obama treats.......

"You wanna treat from papa?"
nom nom nom
"You wanna treat from Michael Vick?"
grrrrrrr

He never mentioned at one time feeling bad for the animals..

he does not care, everything he said he was coached on and it was written for him, you have to remember that before this conviction Michael Vick was the highest paid person in the entire NFL! The NFL allowed him back because they know they will make $.

He said he was disgusted at what he let happen to the animals and that he deserved to lose that $130m contract because of what he did to the dogs.
Whether he meant it or not we will never know but imo he showed emotion that couldn't be coached.

I think anyone can get emotional when their entire life and career is on the line.
