My god, what has our precious training section come to?

Why do you feel the need to shave your chest? Are you competing???

I use to shave my chest when I was in middle- and high-school because I was self-conscious about it. Now, I love it!! Learn to embrace the hair! It's burly. Don't you want to be compared to Chuck Norris? Hmm?? Don't you???

You know....when Chuck Norris goes swimming he doesn't get wet...the water gets Chuck Norris.

....this, my friend...could be you...

I shaved my back and chest one time and it was the most miserable week of my life. I felt like I was wearing a shitty sweater with no undershirt and scratching just made it worse. :shake:

You could use a clippers to just shorten it a lot without actually shaving it down to the skin and you wouldn't have that issue

I feel the hair that bald is the way to go I don't like the hair atall....now is someone going to give me some actual advice or am I just going to have to read this shit all day. P.s the joke about chuck norris sucks!!

When irishteen's zit-like chest razor burn goes swimming the zit-like chest razor burn doesn't get wet, the water gets zit-like chest razor burn....

Mmmmm....noo, I like it better with Chuck Norris. At least he has chest hair.

I raced road bikes for almost 20 years, and shaved my legs for that long too. There were occasions when I'd get those little bumps, but time took care of the problem. They WILL go away!

If you're shaving against the grain, so to speak, there could be minor bits of dirt, or oil that are getting shoved into the follicle, causing an irritation, creating red bumps.

Make sure the area you're shaving, legs, chest, whatever, is clean. Best bet, right after a shower.

Shave with the grain for awhile, until you skin gets used to the action of the razor.

If you want that really close shave that you can only get by going 'against the grain', do it on a small area first, and don't apply alot of pressure.

Cool your skin down with some cool water, which will close the pores, then apply a mild lotion.

Know this also, that shaving against the grain can leave the end of the hair below the surface of the skin. When it grows back, it can actually go under the very thinnest bit of skin, and not actually surface. You may see a hair, but it could be just under a very thin layer of skin. Don't freak out, it happens.

Going with the grain is your best bet.

good luck

Haha! I ride a lot and I always see the same group of guys all in matching spandex and they give me the dirtiest looks for not wearing spandex and a helmet apparently.

Man are you fucking serious, get a fucking life, talk about scatting in a whores mouth or something, who gives a fuck about little red dots on you scroney sunk in chest, geesh, give me a fuckin break:loser2:

Remember it's not the amount of shaving foam you toss on. That's ego shaving.

Leave your ego at the door and focus on form, adding a bit more shaving foam each week. Shaving with bad form can lead to injury.

That's nothing to be proud of mate. You sound like you're fucking a wrinkled chimpanzee.

Btw just for future reference, hair actually increases friction so it can't be used as lube.

Typically, red non-pustular bumps are caused by a deficiency in a person's sense of humor. :(

Aaaaand let the bumps go down on their own. You might try some calamine lotion to help dry up the area more quickly. From there I'd go the clipper route rather than shaving as you seem to be suffering from ye olde folliculitis.

A cursory Google offers this:

"If you have folliculitis, avoid shaving the infected area. If you must shave, change the razor blade each time. Try using depilatory creams..."

Good luck.

(Work on that sense of humor, too, okay?)

I use this on everything but my face.
Epilady
It works great and hair stays away for up to a week before i need to touch up. Hair grows back in at different rates. It does hurt but the results are better than shaving.

Back to basics

Hi, try rinsing with hot water before adding foam/soap (this opens the pores) and rinse with cold water after shaving (this closes them again). Pat yourself dry and use a moisturiser for sensitive skin. Hope that helps, Ray.:hmmm:
